  The criteria for granting pending changes reviewer were not changed from the trial during the RFCs that preceded the return of pending changes. See Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes#Becoming a reviewer for the criteria in the current guideline; The pending changes reviewer right should be granted on a fairly liberal basis. Recent blocks or noticeboard threads should generally not be used as a reason to deny a user the right upon request. The reviewer right simply re-enables a tacit ability autoconfirmed editors possessed prior to the implementation of pending changes—the ability to approve anonymous edits. Note that the process for removal of the reviewer right did change: While any administrator has the technical ability to remove the reviewer permission, removal should occur only as the result of consensus from a discussion or when an editor requests the removal of their own permission. Discussion regarding removal of the reviewer permission should normally occur at the Administrators' noticeboard. Discussion with the involved editor and/or a request for a second opinion at the Pending changes talk page is recommended before formally requesting removal.
