[edit]http://www.ussoccer.com/teams/u-20-mnt/p/daniel-potts.aspx. Not sure how reliable. Exat (talk) 11:05, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well it's the official site, but doesn't actually say he has played for them... GiantSnowman 11:09, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Surely he can't be just 5ft? Exat (talk) 11:12, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Almost definitely not. GiantSnowman 11:15, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

- This has to be some wind up or wishful thinking he is not in their squad at any level. West Ham would soon being broadcasting it. I have checked every programme for last season and this which includes two player profiles, one aged 16 and one aged 17, where if he had played for the US it would be there.REVUpminster (talk) 23:14, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- Apparantly he was involved with the under20s training camp in the summer. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2011/12/the-lowdown-on-dan-potts.html Exat (talk) 20:13, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
- Training camp is not enough to turn him into an American. When footballers are young they do the tour of clubs hoping to get taken on as professionals. Potts was at West Ham from the age of 6 playing 11 a side games from age 8. It was only the illness that slowed his developement. Beckham, Terry and many others attended West Ham camps even though they had their sights elsewhere.REVUpminster (talk) 20:38, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not arguing against that. I agree more than I disagree. However being pretty new to the wikipedia editing world I wasn't 100%. By the way how can match programs be considered a 'reliable' source?Exat (talk) 00:04, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- It is an official publication has his birthday, birthplace, medical history from his two bios 8 Jan 2011/ 7 August 2011 which is quite detailed. I am sure other sources are using them. Hopefully tomorrow's programme will have Potts representative flag to clear up his nationality.REVUpminster (talk) 15:34, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- Born in London, not played for the US. His nationality would be English. --Jimbo[online] 15:38, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Todays programme has US flag and his name as Dan Potts in another interview on page 17 although nationality is still BritishREVUpminster (talk) 17:52, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- http://www.whufc.com/articles/20120113/hammers-sign-john_2236884_2572437 confirms potts played once for the under 20s in a friendly.Exat (talk) 14:28, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
