Leicester

[edit]

Showaddywaddy, Gary Lineker, Baby squads and Joe 'sodding' Waters. that was all i knew about Leicester until the Diesel's. Still don't know much about the place but the Diesel's are cracking baby!

Compared with Shirley Bassey article

[edit]

I find it very odd that the size of this article easily outweighs (for example) Dame Shirley Bassey's. Most British people have heard of Bassey, whilst virtually nobody has any idea who the hell Diesel Park West are. Still, it takes all sorts.

Terrible article

[edit]

This is an awful article. First of all, it sounds like it was written by an obvious fan (or lifted from a copyrighted source) and practically none of it is cited. The tone is not encyclopedic (again, sounds fan-ish), especially when talking about the albums. The article mentions the band being discussed favorably in the music press, but doesn't ever link to a source. Really, I think it should be stubbed until it's completely rewritten. I'm going to do so if no one objects in a few days. FironDraak (talk) 23:17, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

and 14 years later... it still sounds like a fanboy/girl wrote it. 49.130.194.46 (talk) 10:24, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe so....

[edit]

Encyclopedically (word?), this may well be a pile of old tosh, but at least it's honest tosh and it ain't ripped off my dear Draak. As no one else was ever going to write about these bunch of herberts, it fell to me to write an appraisal of them. They are local boys done ok, as such no one gives much of a toss and if you fancy sticking it to a stub, then feel free. No one reads this page anyway!

Ooh you are awful...... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.5.47.91 (talk) 23:18, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Best cover ever ?

[edit]

Their cover of "Memo From Turner" is one of the best ever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.32.218 (talk) 12:00, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alice quite liked it

[edit]

Night Network, ITV (LWT only, though Yorkshire took some of it), middle of the night 1988. Jackie's Still Sad played for the segment in which three celeb guests bopped a red button when they'd had enough of the video, in the Britain's Got Talent style. Alice Cooper gave it reasonable shrift. I saw enough to get me down to Our Price on the Monday at any rate. The other DPW track allowed onto my iPod is A House Divided. That's two more tracks than Jesus Jones will ever get on there Adamsez (talk) 16:07, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
