Where is it?

[edit]

The present Article does not really say where the volcano Mount Roskill actually IS. Is it in Winstone Park, which is labelled on maps? Please remediate. 94.30.84.71 (talk) 14:29, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is in Winstone Park, and I've added that to the article. At the top of each geographical article, there is a set of coordinates which you can click to be taken to a page offering map views. Alternatively, if you click the little icon next to the coordinates, Wikipedia's own "WikiMiniAtlas" will pop up to show you where the item is. I find WikiMiniAtlas is often a little slow to load, so I usually click the coordinates rather than the icon.-gadfium 22:40, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed content split

[edit]

The suburb and the volcano are two distinct topics. I propose to split the content for the mountain and create Mount Roskill (New Zealand) in accordance with WP:NCNZ. Thoughts? Schwede66 18:58, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agree with splitting mountain and suburb articles, particularly as it will fit with the rest of the volcanic field entries and particularly after the 2014 Tūpuna Maunga treaty settlement that renamed the maunga. However I wonder if the mountain article should be titled Puketāpapa and the suburb article can have Mount Roskill with no (New Zealand) ?? Drstuey (talk) 23:31, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • That naming proposal makes sense to me. I'd say just get going along those lines. If somebody objects no doubt we'll hear about it and we can sort that aspect out then. Schwede66 23:49, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
