POV

[edit]

sounds like a sales brochure, particularly the buzzwords like 'warfighter' and the assumption the reader is a pro-military US citizen.72.253.239.151 (talk) 02:53, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New name

[edit]

The name of this facility will be changed to Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, effective Feb. 19, 2019.[1] On that date the article should be updated and the article title moved. -- MelanieN (talk) 20:02, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As of today, Feb. 20, there has been no announcement of the name change and the web pages remain the same. We should not make any changes until the rename is announced/confirmed. -- MelanieN (talk) 18:41, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is still some confusion about what entities have changed names, and what haven't.
  1. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) has not changed its name. The command's own website still uses that name.
  2. Only the names of the "SPAWAR Systems Centers" have changed: Per the site's own release, "Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) announced it will change the names of its Echelon III systems centers, SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic in Charleston, South Carolina, and SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific in San Diego, to Naval Information Warfare Centers Atlantic and Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, respectively."
Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 22:26, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed there is a Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, created in 2006, which was renamed from SPAWAR Pacific on February 28. As of this post however, Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic is a redlink. FYI - wolf 22:33, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
