Is this possible to create a list of equipment? Eurohunter (talk) 12:09, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fate of the PLA

[edit]

considering the fall of the Assad regime, what is the current status of the PLA, is anyone able to ascertain it? LeTommyWiseau2000 (talk) 20:17, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

the PLA was basically a Auxiliary regiment of the Syrian army but also "officially" the armed wing of the PLO, the PFLP-GC had also deep Assad ties but it's existence is very much beyond Syria, whereas idk how much the PLA exists as I said beyond a glorified "Palestinian gurkha" regiment of the defeated SAA, which no longer exists LeTommyWiseau2000 (talk) 20:19, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
any decrees of the transitional government related to this? any statements by the PLA? I feel it's continued existence is very much a question mark. LeTommyWiseau2000 (talk) 20:20, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have updated the article. Though nothing firm is known yet, the new government has ordered the armed Palestinian groups -which includes the PLA- to disarm themselves, though they are not (yet) ordering them to completely disband. Applodion (talk) 21:20, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Applodion thanks LeTommyWiseau2000 (talk) 21:42, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
hey sorry to bother y'all again but that source is very Hezbollah aligned and probably biased, is there a better source on this or anything that might corroborate that report as reliable? LeTommyWiseau2000 (talk) 03:44, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Currently not, as far as I can seen. We will probably have to wait a bit for more infos. Applodion (talk) 12:40, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@LeTommyWiseau2000: Another new source (which I have justed added) confirms that the PLA is still around and has basically pledged itself to the new Syrian government. We will have to wait and see whether that will lead to anything. Applodion (talk) 23:16, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
