Your GA nomination of Constantine II of Greece

The article Constantine II of Greece you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Constantine II of Greece for comments about the article, and Talk:Constantine II of Greece/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Death of dolls?

Hello! Re: your edit here. The women died, personally. Her dolls did not die. They are a part of the name of her act, not her personal name. Please do not add the dolls again to the death list! They do not belong in that context. SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:10, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

You’re totally wrong, but it’s ok. Next time read the Spanish media and get informed. _-_Alsor (talk) 11:12, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
An act cannot die. Neither can dolls. Only a living creature can die. I am not wrong in any of that. If we had an article about "Edgar Bergen and Charlie", and Bergen died, we would list him among deaths, but not Charlie. Dame Edna was much more famous than Barry Humphries, but it was Humphries, not Edna, who died. I don't need to read Spanish articles. Though I'm sure they're fine, they are irrelevant here. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:09, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
“I don't need to read Spanish articles”. Ok, with that you have said it all. I'm done with this debate that is not going anywhere. Have a nice day. _-_Alsor (talk) 11:11, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Alsoriano97, thank you for expanding this article, but the prose you added is not clear English; it looks as if you used machine translation without checking that the output was good English. I've tagged the article and listed it in the "rough translation" section at Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English, since my knowledge of Spanish is inadequate to fix it. One word in particular, "vindicative", was noted at a Wikipedia criticism site, so I looked at the Spanish-language article and then at the cited source to try to figure out what was meant. That led me to this passage in the source (the only one that spells it Mujer 76 rather than Mujer76): "hizo de todo: desde los espacios de música con 'Discos dedicados' a los de cine con 'Panorámica' pasando por las retransmisiones de Semana Santa, de toros y, avanzado el tiempo, de política y feminismo como el rompedor e innovador 'Mujer 76'." In our article, that's represented by presenting music programs such as "Discos dedicados" or film programs such as "Panorámica", as well as retransmissions of Holy Week, bullfighting, or even politics and feminism, such as "Mujer76", which you added in this edit. That seems to me both overly close to the original in wording (close paraphrasing) and inaccurate, since the source is talking about her range: from music to films through religious coverage and bullfighting to eventually politics and feminism. If you don't feel confident writing extended prose in your own words, or translating from Spanish Wikipedia articles into clear English, then it would be better if you just filled in details with references. Obviously translated English is hard to understand, and hard for other editors to check for accuracy. Yngvadottir (talk) 07:20, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

I suppose that recognizing your level of Spanish is not inadequate, but making an assessment of this article should be done with more prudence. The source at no time speaks of an "eventuality" of the type of political and feminist programs that Campos came to do. That in the first place.
Secondly, there is no rule that prevents the use of translators (which, in this case, has been in some paragraphs and expressions). It’s clear that there is also no impediment to non-native English speakers contributing to Wikipedia in English.
Thirdly, your last comment is quite unfortunate (although I'm sure it was with good will). I will continue to expand the articles that I wish and see fit to do so, with the best will to contribute.
Fourthly, there is nothing to prevent you from improving the spelling of this article, other than leaving a tag. Greetings. _-_Alsor (talk) 07:41, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

Thanks, that's very kind of you :). I've finished my c/e now; I removed a small portion of repeated text and two references regarding Sampaio's first term as president to the article's talk page. This material is already covered in the previous section on his terms as Mayor of Lisbon. I also converted one reference that contained extended text to a new footnotes section, which I've now merged with the refs. I hope that's suitable. Wishing you good luck with your planned second GA nomination. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 00:43, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi, User:Alsoriano97. How would nominating Queen Anne-Marie of Greece for DYK or even GA sound? I was also thinking of possibly nominating Constantine II of Greece for FA? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 23:01, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

@Therealscorp1an hello again! Sorry for the late reply to your message. Between moving house and the Christmas holidays I've been very inactive on Wikipedia. Count on me in these proposals, although I will still not be very active. The Queen Anne-Marie article seems to be in very good condition and it won't be too much work for us to do (although, IMO, the photo in the infobox should not be one of her at her husband's funeral and in a moment of grief). _-_Alsor (talk) 23:20, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Alsoriano97: - I came across your recent edits on 2024 and took a look at your contributions out of curiosity. I noticed that you are a regular contributor to WP:YEARS pages, with extensive edits at Portal:Current Events. I recently edited this portal for the first time after discovering it through the WP:YEARS pages. I must admit that I was quite taken aback by what I encountered. It appeared that editing on the page was very much a free-for-all type situation, lacking in structure and compliance with WP:PAG. This has raised concerns for me as the efforts we put into maintaining the quality of WP:YEARS pages will be undermined if readers are directed to such poorly written pages through the links on each page. I would be grateful if you could provide some insight into your experiences editing the page. 33ABGirl (talk) 12:02, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Day!

You undid a wikilinkon María Begoña Gómez here however, Wikilinks at first mention in the body are correct.

You also do not write why you did this in the edit summary. You should.

Please familiarize yourself with WP:MOS. Wuerzele (talk) 10:19, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

I am perfectly familiar with MOS, thank you. But that's not the case with "first mention in the body". Pedro Sánchez is mentioned twice in the entire article prior to the Personal life section. When edits are obvious, an edit summary is not always necessary. _-_Alsor (talk) 10:24, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
You are wrong. Pedro Sánchez is not mentioned twice in the article prior to the Personal life section. Pedro Sanchez is only mentioned in the lede and not in the body, so the wikilink was appropriate. Maybe as a new editor, you do not know what the lede is?
For you to undo a correct thing, you should provide an edit summary. And I still dont know why you did this, instead of providing something constructive to the article!--Wuerzele (talk) 10:38, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Notes on civility

Hey Alsor - just a request from me to potentially keep an eye on the wording of your comments. I think that your remarks are starting to be borderline WP:INCIVIL, such as Everything InvadingInvader says makes sense within his logic on the WPYEARS talk page. It's starting to lean towards comments which are a bit too adversarial for WMF projects. I'd suggest that you try to cool the remarks down, such as instead of "makes sense within his logic", consider "I respectfully disagree with InvadingInvader's point of view". Thanks! @InvadingInvader oh no no, I had no such intention at all. I simply wanted to say that, under your criteria, it is reasonable what you explain. I am going to change it so as not to generate misunderstandings. Apologies and thanks. _-_Alsor (talk) 08:23, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
