- Thank you for a good one! - Tell me, please, what is wrong about my assumption that Tchaikovsky's favourite opera is more intriguing than a German opera company? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:25, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- Many editors discussed this at the nomination. Bruxton (talk) 22:43, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- No, they didn't. They arrived at saying something mentioning Oper Frankfurt as the only link besides the singer. How is that - a German opera company - intriguing? Besides that is was linked in four DYK hooks already as tlc found out, so also boring. I asked at ERRORS where a few eyes beyond the narrow DYK group are looking, to keep our Main page interesting. I'll ask again tomorrow but let it go for now, - it was a lovely vacation day, and I'm tired. This will be my last hook about an opera singer, and I would have preferred to be a bit better, but I really don't care much any more. Do me a favour: read about the opera. It's way more interesting than the company, and even than the singer. The composer's favourite, but not liked by politics and church. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:57, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- Just to clarify further: you said (on WT:DYK) that it was my nomination. No. It was Storye book's. I was already on strike. The hook on the Main page (now) is nothing I'd have written, with no word about the singer, but a lot about circumstances and the position of the person who mimed. All I have tried on ERRORS was getting attention away from the company to the opera. There's a sentence in the top box of Precious. Enjoy DYK. It's over for me, which will make some happy. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:51, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: I said it was not your nomination. The editors tried to find a hook which entices a reader. I am surprised that you continue to belabor the point. One of your nominations had 19 hooks proposed. This one had 11 hooks proposed. I think you should let it go. I see you posted on errors again. Bruxton (talk) 16:18, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

- @Gerda Arendt: It will burn you out fighting for these changes, and it will also burn out other editors. I take the advice of the others and I am happy to get an article through DYK. If you do not fight for all of these changes about venue, performance, status of singing voice, travel to the venue, other editors will not get fatigued. It is tiring trying to organize a hook that is interesting when one person continuously vetoes hooks. Bruxton (talk) 21:13, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- I am sorry about my lack of English. I am done with DYK. I haven't written an article for DYK in 2023, and my name is not on DYKTALK (other than talk about me). DYK used to be about subjects and facts about subjects, and it became about hooks that can be vaguely related to the subjects (Manistina, Pisarenko) and view counts. It's not how I want to spend the limited time of my life. Enjoy ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:44, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

- I just didn't want to read the sources because they might have... pictures, you know. Btw I've color-adjusted the sandwich image and cropped it a little. BorgQueen (talk) 04:17, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
