List of years in Catalonia
Hello, Cassiopeia. I think there is a mistake about moving the page List of years in Catalonia to "Draft". I created this page as analogous to the ones of other countries and regions of Europe. Any of this lists, except just very few of them, have no references or sources, because they are just lists which contains the pages of the years in the countries, so I don't understand the reasons to put the Catalan page in incubation. Thank you very much. --Jacobí (talk) 20:13, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jacobí Greetings to you. Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists do need sources to support the content claimed just like an article but Disambiguation pages dont need sources as long as the item listed have pages in Wikipedia. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:23, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
Broken Huggle revert
This was over a year ago, but I just came across this edit in which you accidentally reverted to a bad version. If it was a fault of the tool you might want to file a bug report. --Paul_012 (talk) 20:30, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Paul 012 Greetings to you and thank you for bringing it to my attention. The edit was 15 months ago and I believe, if I remember correctly, it was an accidentally revert to wrong version but not a bug in the tool. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:43, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Dichter und Bauer moved to draftspace
My idea is that if I put something incomplete there, other folks will edit/modify it or add new material to it to make it better and more complete in time. (Isn't this the advantage of the way Wikipedia works?) It is apparently hard for anyone to produce an article that is immediately full-fledged and perfect, which is perhaps why this article has never been created in spite of the fact that many people are looking for it because of its famous overture. Meanwhile, the Library of Congress has a 19th century copy of the original libretto in German Dichter und Bauer. Libretto. German. Maybe someone who is good at German can start from there. --Roland (talk) 07:59, 19 February
- Roland Longbo Greetings. Article in Wikipedia needs first to be notable to be inlcuded in Wikipedia main space and the content claimed needs to supported by significant coverage (at least 3) independent, reliable sources (such sources form newspaper, books, journals and etc) which the sources talk about the subject in length and dept and not only passing mentioned. Also do provide inline citation in the body text next to the content claimed. See inline citation info and instruction. The article need not to be complete for it could be in working in progress. Also sources could be in any languages. Pls see - Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything. Let me know when you have done that and if anything else I would help. Cheers. Lance Poimbeouf
Hi Cassiopeia, in regards to Lance Poimbeouf there are different ways that the references in Internet spell his name. But if you check the NFL.com reference (http://www.nfl.com/player/lancepoimboeuf/2523339/profile) and his obituary, they spell his name Lance Poimboeuf, so I think we should change it. Please review this point, to revert your change.Tecmo (talk) 16:32, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- Tecmo Greetings to you. I reverted your edit as the name you changed did not match the article's name. I have reverted my edit and also changed the subject name to Lance Poimboeuf -see WP:COMMONNAME, as per NFL and UL/USL (Rajin Cajuns) info - see page now - Lance Poimboeuf. Thank you. Creating portals
Cassiopeia,
Thank you for volunteering to build portals.
Before we start, here's an opening comment: Keep in mind that you are not limited to the standard designs for portals or to the standard ways to create portals. You can build them completely from scratch, and/or customize to your heart's content, if you want to. Innovation is desired and encouraged.
The current instructions are in need of expansion, and so, I'm in the process of developing them further, by explaining the process to editors directly (it helps develop flow), which I shall do below. For future reference, the starting instruction page is WP:P/I.
Starting a portal page
Most portals these days are highly automated, with whizzbang components that do various things. For these it is most convenient to use semi-automated methods of construction.
The 2 main ways to create an automated portal are:
- by placing
{{subst:bpsp}}
on a blank page and clicking on preview (to inspect before saving) - by copying/pasting another portal page and then search/replace the title throughout.
"Template:bpsp" is the alias (shortcut) for Template:Basic portal start page. You can find further instructions there.
Note that the template bpsp is in turn full of templates. There are other templates available as well, especially for the Selected articles sections. Each portal template has a navigation footer at the bottom listing all the portal templates available. We try to make customization as easy as possible.
Once the portal page has been created, there are some changes you are likely to want to make:
- Fixing any Lua errors by either replacing template titles/parameters or removing the sections that have an error.
- Refining the portal's internal search parameters (in the DYK and ITN sections – that is, the "Did you know" & "In the news" sections), to get better matches. {{Bpsp}} by its very nature only provides the capitalized version of the title for the internal searches. You may want to decapitalize that, and/or provide further terms. Separate additional search strings with a pipe character (|).
- Adding sections for specific types of articles, for example, a Selected biographies section. To do that, copy/paste the Selected general articles section and edit its title and template parameters.
- Adding pictures to the image slideshow. See {{Transclude files as random slideshow}} for instructions.
Bpsp variants are available for various layout configurations. They are named bpsp2, bpsp3, etc.
When you are ready for the next level, there is an alpha-version script in development that speeds the process further. It's how I've been able to create 3500+ portals. It's operational but buggy, and must be used carefully because it has an incompatibility with another specific script that results in endless loops if you don't have the other script turned off. Let me know when you are ready to take the plunge.
Approaches
There are two main approaches in creating portals:
- Find a subject that has the necessary resources in place, and create a portal for that
- Pick a subject that you like, and create a portal for that
Number 1 above is by far the easier of the two, because the portals generate content using existing structures in the encyclopedia. The image slideshow is populated by default with pictures from the corresponding root article. The Selected general articles section gets populated from the entries in the corresponding navbox footer template. If the root article has no pictures, or there is no corresponding navbox footer template, Lua errors will be displayed on the screen, which happens a lot when you try number 2, above.
Number 2 is more time-consuming, generally, because you have to find resources to populate the various sections. Choosing a subject, rather than finding one with support already in place, generally requires more editing and construction time. Building such a portal takes around an hour (or more), as opposed to a few minutes with approach #1.
Portal variations and examples
Panoramas / banners / full-width pics
Panoramas are nice, especially a panorama in the intro. The code is provided in bpsp as a hidden comment in the intro to make insertion easier.
The template used for this is {{Portal image banner}}. It includes features to allow you to crop larger pictures into banner-sized ones, by showing only a part of the picture (that you designate) on the screen.
For examples of portals with intro banners, see:
- Portal:Ajmer
- Portal:Atlanta
- Portal:Atlases
- Portal:Australia (has 2 pics in it; selected pic randomizes each time the page loads, or upon purge)
- Portal:Australian Capital Territory
- Portal:Bacon
- Portal:Bangkok
- Portal:Bermuda
- Portal:Blackberries
- Portal:Breakfast (by the way, there is no Portal:Lunch or Portal:Dinner as of yet)
- Portal:Cannabis
- Portal:Cereals
- Portal:Cetaceans (Whales)
- Portal:Cheese
- Portal:Clothing
- Portal:Coffee
- Portal:Cooking
- Portal:Florence
- Portal:Genocide
- Portal:Hong Kong
- Portal:Houston
- Portal:Japanese architecture
- Portal:Manhattan
- Portal:Meat
- Portal:Miami
- Portal:New York City
- Portal:Niagara Falls (uses
maxheight
,overflow
, andcroptop
parameters) - Portal:Odisha
- Portal:Peaches
- Portal:Reptiles (has 2 pics in it; selected pic randomizes each time the page loads, or upon purge)
- Rice
- Portal:Rio de Janeiro
- Portal:Saint Petersburg
- Portal:Seattle
- Portal:Serbia
- Portal:Sharks
- Portal:Waterfalls
- Portal:Wheat
Examples of portals with an intro banner at the bottom of the intro:
Examples of portals with multiple banner placement throughout the portal:
Example of a panoramic slideshow at the top of the intro:
Portal with a section displaying a single full-width picture:
- Portal:Poultry (See section "Chicken farm")
For examples of a closing full-width pic (at the bottom of the portal page), see:
Portals with modified search parameters
If you change the search parameters, keep in mind that there are two sections that need them, and you should probably change both: Did you know, and In the news
In Portal:Mars, "Mars" matches too many things, like "Marshland", and so it is necessary to end the string with the code for a space character: %s
In Portal:Plums, the default search term "Plums" didn't match anything (capital letters matter), and the plural also affects the search, so the following search terms were used instead: | %splum%s | %splums%s | %sprune%s | %sprunes%s |
For examples of portals with multiple search parameters, see:
- Portal:Plums
- Portal:Sharks
- Portal:1910s (this employs a character group in square brackets, which matches all those characters)
- Portal:Apes
- Portal:Bicycles
Portals with additional Selected sections
- Portal:Bicycles
- Portal:New York City (Selected biographies section)
- Portal:Seattle
- Portal:Science
Here are some where the sections are balanced in pairs so that the slideshows don't move when you click the arrows
Example of a portal with articles specified
Let me know if the above instructions and examples help
Good luck.

Hi there! The article was a split from the former List of Tanglin episodes which I have since redirected as List of Tanglin episodes (Episodes 1-508), to maintain the links to the former article. It was previously suggested to split into 2 articles which I agreed, see here. Before the split, the former article is in top 10 (I believed was fifth or sixth) biggest articles (in size) in Wikipedia and I took the bold move to split it. I do noted that there is no source for the original article and tagged both as such. I think if (509-824) is not suitable, perhaps (1-508) have to go as well. I am fine with both articles being deleted. I am not sure how to move on for both articles if one is in main space and the other is in draft. I seek your opinion on this. Thanks --Xaiver0510 (talk) 06:51, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- Xaiver0510 Greetings to you. Split or not, the articles still need sources to support the content claimed. Group source in any languages is suitable. If you are the creator of the articles and would like the article to be deleted then insert {{Db-G7}} on top of the page and place "creator request to delete the page" on the edit summary before saving/publish. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:18, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
Notability -Draft:Estado de sitio
I believe an article that exists in Spanish, German and several other languages, different legal structures and foreign cultures might perhaps be worthy of a corresponding {stub} entry in English. Did you even look at the edit page which clarifies that for Estado de sitio: Similar concepts apply in German law (Belagerungszustand) and Italian law (Stato d'assedio)
Are you perhaps in danger of becoming an Anglophone imperialist? May I hope you are not, and will now rectify your edit? Timpo (talk) 08:36, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Timpo Greeting to you. I believe Draft:Estado de sitio is the page you were referring to. If not, pls advise. Pls note the below
- Each Wikipedia sister (diff languages) sites operates independently from each other, this means each has their own policies and guidelines. For English (EN) Wikipedia; thus articles have accepted in other Wikipedia language sites might not be acceptable in EN Wikipedia.
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and a page is merit in EN Wikipedia main space if
- the subject is notable
- the content claimed is supported by (a) significant (at least 3) of (b) independent, (c) reliable sources which the sources talk about the subject in length and in dept and not merely passing mentioned for they can be verifiable.
- content free of copyright infringement ; written in your own words.
- written in neutral point of view
- ff the content and concept is general as of Siege then add the content to Siege page if info is yet to be in the page. If the concept is distinctive that of Spanish law, then pls provide sources. Sources from newspapers, books and etc are acceptable and sources can be in any languages.
- pls see for further clarification - Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything. thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:06, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
Talk to us about talking
The Wikimedia Foundation is planning a global consultation about communication. The goal is to bring Wikimedians and wiki-minded people together to improve tools for communication.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis, whatever their experience, their skills or their devices.
We are looking for input from as many different parts of the Wikimedia community as possible. It will come from multiple projects, in multiple languages, and with multiple perspectives.
We are currently planning the consultation. We need your help.
We need volunteers to help talk to their communities or user groups.
You can help by hosting a discussion at your wiki. Here's what to do:
- First, sign up your group here.
- Next, create a page (or a section on a Village pump, or an e-mail thread – whatever is natural for your group) to collect information from other people in your group. This is not a vote or decision-making discussion: we are just collecting feedback.
- Then ask people what they think about communication processes. We want to hear stories and other information about how people communicate with each other on and off wiki. Please consider asking these five questions:
- When you want to discuss a topic with your community, what tools work for you, and what problems block you?
- What about talk pages works for newcomers, and what blocks them?
- What do others struggle with in your community about talk pages?
- What do you wish you could do on talk pages, but can't due to the technical limitations?
- What are the important aspects of a "wiki discussion"?
- Finally, please go to Talk pages consultation 2019 on Mediawiki.org and report what you learned from your group. Please include links if the discussion is available to the public.
You can also help build the list of the many different ways people talk to each other.
Not all groups active on wikis or around wikis use the same way to discuss things: it can happen on wiki, on social networks, through external tools... Tell us how your group communicates.
You can read more about the overall process on mediawiki.org. If you have questions or ideas, you can leave feedback about the consultation process in the language you prefer.
Thank you! We're looking forward to talking with you.

Vicente Luque fight record
His fight with Felipe Portela (Felipe Balboa at the time) is on YouTube and ends by him getting submitted by a triangle choke. Sherdog's record is incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.94.45.147 (talk) 22:58, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- 203.94.45.147 Good day and thank you for bringing to my attention - appreciate it. I have checked and indeed it was triangle choke. According to the MMAProject Wikipeida - see HERE under Method#2 result method is based as per Sherdog.com unless body text (supported by inline citation (source)) indicated differently as as the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. Thus result that is not referenced , must be returned to how it is described in Sherdog.
- I have check English mma sites and a few Brazilian mma sites and could not find any press article about the fight for such the method remain as per Sherdog. I have remove one of the warning message in your talk page. Kindly leave a brief edit summary (if needed include the source/URL) as a form of communication to other editors as Wikipedia content is the collaboration of many editor and avoid misunderstanding. Pls see Wikipedia:WikiProject Mixed martial arts if you interested of in editing mma articles in Wikipedia and sign up as a participant if you are interested. Once again thank you and cheers. - Hi Transhumanist, Good day. I have created a portal - Portal:Jiu-jitsu and trying to understand the insctructions given by you below and I am not sure how to fix and defining the parameter. Is there a page in Wikipedia or on internet the teaches such thing so I may learn? Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:09, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- "Refining the portal's internal search parameters (in the DYK and ITN sections – that is, the "Did you know" & "In the news" sections), to get better matches. {{Bpsp}} by its very nature only provides the capitalized version of the title for the internal searches. - Here is some documentation for you to read:
- Help:Template (pagenames incuded within double curly brackets, are templates).
- Instructions for Did you know sections are covered at Template:Transclude selected recent additions.
- Instructions for In the news sections are covered at Template:Transclude selected current events.
- Here is some documentation for you to read:
- The reason I sent you examples, was so that you could see first hand how portals are configured. All the necessary code is in there. To see how search entries are done, look at the wikisource code for the portals listed under User talk:CASSIOPEIA#Portals with modified search parameters.
- To see how to add extra sections, look at the wikisource code of the examples at User talk:CASSIOPEIA#Portals with additional Selected sections.
- You'll see the section titles in there. When you copy and paste a section, edit the section title. Search parameters are phrases that you want to match. Like "flower". Here's how to do a "Did you know" section with that search term:
<!--CONDITIONAL DID YOU KNOW? SECTION - ONLY SHOWS UP WHEN THERE ARE ENTRIES TO DISPLAY-->
{{Transclude selected recent additions | flower | months=36 | header={{Box-header colour|Did you know... }}|max=6}}
<!--END OF DID YOU KNOW? SECTION-->
Which looks like this:
- ... that Shane Connolly has provided flowers for two royal weddings and the coronation of Charles III?
- ... that within the Armenian Rite, it takes 40 days and more than 40 flowers, herbs, and spices to create the chrism known as myron?
- ... that New Zealand politician Hamish Campbell is a cancer researcher and runs a flower-delivery business?
- ... that Roland Jefferson, the first African-American botanist to work at the U.S. National Arboretum, helped preserve the famous flowering cherry trees in Washington, D.C.?
- ... that the perigynia of the few-flowered sedge spring outward when brushed against?
- ... that the flowers of Pavonia praemorsa bloom and die within the same day?
The text after each vertical line (called a "pipe") are the parameters. The parameters withut equal signs are search terms.
I hope this explanation helps. — The Transhumanist 07:00, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi The Transhumanist Thank you very much for the above info, I will check it out. Thanks again. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:47, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

- Basically Wikipedia powers much of the internet with so many websites simple copy and pasting from us. Most only follow the copyright requirements poorly.

Hello @CASSIOPEIA: I'm new user autoconfirmed also trying to learn by myself. I'm interested in fighting vandalism & Page Curation in the future. I'm quite active almost 15 hours a day on my Macbook editing & submitting WP:AFD & WP:A7 also I Fix Entertainment (Films) related articles in terms of Grammar & Spellings. I'm really interested in learning and keeping with up with Wikipedia.-- MrZINE 18:28, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Iamzine13, OK I will try my best to help you of what I know. I think you have done a few topics of The Wikipedia Adventure. It would be good to go through all of them as they are valuable info for a new editor to familiar and understand some Wikipedia guidelines, policies when editing and creating article in Wikipedia. Secondly, to fight vandalism in Wikipedia, you could visit vandalism page for information; however, there is a counter vandalism course to sign up if you are interested. (note: it would take about 2 months to complete the course for most ppl and a lot of readings and exercises). Since you just joined Wikipedia for lest than 2 weeks, I would suggest yo not do work on WP:A7 at the moment but look through the AFD comments and discussion and familiar with yourself of why articles are nominated for deletion, and the outcomes of the nominations. Pop back here once you have finished the Adventures exercise and let me know if anything I could help further. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:44, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Legitimate Businessman Entertainment
Hello CASSIOPEIA. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Legitimate Businessman Entertainment, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: co-founded by notable person, consider merging there per WP:ATD. Thank you. SoWhy 08:29, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Request on 09:43:44, 6 March 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Hanswembacher
The artist Mauro Bergonzoli has since almost 20 years exhibitions around the world, sells his artworks to royal families, known actors etc... and you decline the entry for what reason? He is covered in international magazines, did charities in the US etc...
Please advise what is wrong with your revision? I know him as i bought some artworks from him, attended exhibitions...
Hanswembacher (talk) 09:43, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Hanswembacher, Greetings and thank you for the questions above.
- Reasons of decline - Notability requirements: There is a message on the grey panel of the draft page which stated what is required and the reasons of the declined. Pls click on the blue highlighted texts and they will bring you to other pages for detail info. In short, (1) subject need to pass the notability requirements, (2) content claimed need to have significant coverage (at least 3) (3) independent, (4)reliable sources where by the sources (such as from major newspapers and reputable journals and etc) need to (5) talk about the subject in length and in depth and not merely passing mentioned. Pls only resubmit when you have added the inline citation (sources) as per content claimed for review.
- conflict of interest (COI) - since you know/are affiliated with the subject, you have a COI here. Wikipedia discourage editor with COI edit/create about the effected page as it is hard fro editor to maintain neutral point of view of the content written. Pls also declare you COI on your (1) User page and (2) on the article talk page. I have sent you a COI message and pls follow the links for info and instruction.
- pls check out WP:Your First Article and referencing to familiar yourself on the requirements and provide inline citation. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:12, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Exogenous and endogenous variables
Hi Cassiopeia,
You’ve moved my new article Exogenous and endogenous variables to draft space since it is uncited. The problem is that previously around 100 other articles linked to an article that was irrelevant to them. I’ve already moved their links to the new article, which is on the proper topic for them. Even uncited, the new article can be seen to be notable since the topic has been cited in Wikipedia around 100 times. To declare the new article as being not yet certified as notable is to claim that 100 other articles have got it wrong. So notability is indisputable.
What remains to do is simply to cite some references to the concept. I’ll be doing that today or soon thereafter. In the meantime, please restore the article so that people clicking the concept will not land on a redlink redirect. Thanks. Loraof (talk) 15:05, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Loraof Greetings. When you have provided the sources, let me know and I will review and publish the article as for the current stage, the contain can not be verified without sources. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Video tutorial "Referencing with VisualEditor" – newsletter issue 1
Good news: the (lengthy!) script draft 1 is complete!
Hello, I am happy to share that script draft 1 is complete and ready for public comment.
The script (link to the Google doc) is much longer than I anticipated, at almost 21 pages!
Although I think that the 21 page script would be a very good introduction to referencing policies and workflows, I am considering dividing it into two or more smaller scripts that would be produced as separate videos. For example, one script could focus on policies and a different script could focus on how to use the citation tool. I am considering this for three reasons:
- People may be more willing to watch shorter videos that have more specific focus.
- Shorter videos may be easier to search for an answer for a single specific question.
- There is a possibility that if I attempt to produce a single video from almost 21 pages of script that I might exceed the budget for this mini-project. I would like for both WMF and the community to be satisfied with the results from this mini-project, and I think that dividing the script into smaller scripts which could be produced separately would be a good way to ensure that the budget for the current grant is not exceeded. While there is a reasonable possibility that I could finish production of the entire 21 pages of script within the current grant, I think that dividing the script would be prudent. After one of the smaller scripts is fully produced within the currently available funding, remaining script could be considered for production within the current grant if there seems to be adequate remaining funds, or could be saved for possible production with a future grant.
Request for constructive criticism and comments
I would very much appreciate constructive criticism and comments regarding the script, preferably by March 10 at 11:59 PM UTC. This is a shorter time window than I would like to provide, but the planned end date for this project is March 14 and I would like to finish video production by the end of March 13 so that I have 24 hours for communications before the grant period ends. If you would like to review the script or make other comments but the end of March 10 is too soon for you, please let me know that you need more time, and I will take that into consideration as I plan for final production and consider whether to request a date extension from WMF. (Extending the finish date for the project would not involve requesting additional funding for the current grant.) I would prefer that the video be done perfectly a few days late than that the video be done on March 14 but have an important error that was not caught during a rush to the finish.
I have three specific requests for feedback:
1. Please find errors in the script. This is a great time to find problems with my work, before the script goes into production and problems become more expensive to fix. Please go to this link in Google Docs and use the Comment feature in the Google Doc.
2. Do you have comments regarding whether the script should be divided, and if so, how it should be divided? Please let me know on the project talk page.
3. How do you feel about the name for the video? Do you prefer "Referencing with VisualEditor" or "Citing sources with VisualEditor", or a third option? Again, please comment on the project talk page. However, if I divide the script then I will create new names for the smaller videos.
Closing comments
Thank you for your interest in this mini-project. I am grateful to be working on a project which I hope will help Wikipedia contributors to be more efficient and effective, and indirectly help to improve Wikipedia's quality by teaching contributors how to identify and to cite reliable sources. I believe that the finished video will be good, and I hope that the community and novice contributors will find the video to be very useful.

I nominated an article for deletion
Hello, I nominated an article for deletion and I was wondering if I did it correctly. It's called Waco: A New Revelation, a documentary on the Waco siege. You've been very helpful in the past, but if you want to point me to the correct place to ask that would be helpful too. Cheers, Pokerplayer513 (talk) 02:01, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Pokerplayer513, good day. Thank you for your question and if my assistance would yield positive impact on your contribution to Wikipedia, it would be time well-spent. Here are some backgrounds on nominate an article for deletion and the answer of your question will follow after.
- There are several venues under certain conditions whereby an article could be nominated for deletion under certain conditions:
- Criteria for Speedy Deletion (CSD) - a process which bypass the normal deletion discussing process whereby admins delete the nominated articles under certain limited conditions such as pages are deemed pure vandalism / blatant hoaxes, author (creator of the page) requests page to be deleted, pages intimidate / harass their subjects, advertising or promotion pages, pages violate of unambiguous copyright infringement (COPYVIO), pages duplicates an existing topic, improper licenses are used, pages blatantly misuse of Wikipedia as a web host and etc. (see full list HERE).
- Propose deletion (PROD) - (this is the method you employed) - it is for "uncontroversial" deletion and it is used as a shortcut to the normal deletion discussion process whereby the proposal does not meet the strict CSD. PROD can nominate one time only and if PROD tag is removed from the article, editor can NOT retag it. (if the article has been previously PRODed or AfD before and survive the AfD, then it can NOT be PRODed again). So an editor needs to check the article talk page and history page prior performing the nomination. If the tag has not been removed by any editors and admins would delete the page if the conditions of article is deemed not suitable to merit a page in mainspace in Wikipedia.
- Articles for deletion (AfD) - Is the venue whereby the editors in Wikipedia discuss whether an article should be deleted where by the discussion would last for 7 days from the nominated date. Editors who involve in the discussion would vote the article to be kept, merged, redirected, incubated, move/rename or delete the article largely based on notability, sources types and veritably of the subject and sources as per Wikipedia guidelines. The outcome of the is not based on a tally of votes, but on reasonable, logical, Wikipeia policy-based arguments.
- Other venues for deletion for categories, files , misc and others can be found at Wikipedia:Deletion venues.
- Notes before nominating an article for deletion- please
- Check if the article content violate of pages infringe of copyright violation (COPYVIO) - if so, raise a COPYVIO CSD. Pls use Earwig's Copyvio Detector to check if the content of the article violates COPYVIO.
- if the article (usually new article) is blatantly to promote the subject - then tag promotion under CSD
- pls do a WP:BEFORE - for independent, reliable sources (if there is no sources or enough sources in the article) before nominated the page for AfD. If independent, reliable sources are found to support the content claimed in the article, editors are encouraged to add the sources into the page.
- pls check if the subject pass the notability requirements.
- Your question - pls see Wikipedia:Notability (films) and IMHO subject does receive enough coverage from independent reliable sources to merit a page in Wikipedia main space. - see Here.
- Kindly pop back here if you need further clarification of anything I could help. You might want to have a look at the current AfD and might want to join in the discussion of the topics of your interest. cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:21, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Take my article out of draft - Draft:A Very British History
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abbas1122 (talk • contribs) 17:08, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Abbas1122 Good day, Thank you for adding the sources. The sources you have provided are primary sources (BBC) (sources associated with the subject) for such they could NOT contribute to the notability of the subject as they are not independent from the subject. We need at least 3 secondary reliable sources, sources such as from reputable newspapers which are not associate (are independent) from BBC such as THIS ONE. Let me know once you have provided the source, give so I could review the draft article and get it publish for you in the Wikipedia mainspace. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:49, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Jamie Moyer personal information
Hi, I'm not well versed in how wiki editing works but have been asked by Jamie Moyer to intervene on his behalf. Although it has not gotten much attention, Jamie and Karen were divorced in 2017 and both have moved on, as they say. Jamie would like references to Karen Moyer, his marriage, the Moyer Foundation, and his ex-father-in-law (Digger Phelps) removed from the wiki page. In general, he's happy with the discussion of his career on the ((Jamie Moyer)) wiki page but not with the references to his personal life. He would like them removed if possible. He sent me a copy of his divorce decree (San Diego County). It may be possible to find it referenced online somewhere. You can contact me at maganong@hotmail.com if you want further clarification. Thanks. DaisyCougan (talk) 20:23, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Please participate to the talk pages consultation
Hello
Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.
We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

Recent changes
- Pages can use geocoordinates from Wikidata with the
mw.wikibase.entity:formatStatements
Lua function or the#statements
parser function. If they do, they will now be shown using a Kartographer<maplink>
if the wiki can use Kartographer. You can report bugs or ask questions on Phabricator. - There is now an EventStream to see when links are added or removed on Wikimedia wikis. You can read the discussions and plans.
Problems
- Some wikis will not be able to edit for a short period of time on 19 March (UTC). This will start at 15:00 UTC. It will last up to 15 minutes but probably shorter. You can see the list of affected wikis. This is because of network maintenance. You can still read the wikis.
- Editors who use Firefox to edit with the visual editor had a problem with copying text. When they tried to select text that included footnotes, templates or block images in the middle they would often only get part of the text. This has now been fixed. [13]
- Some maps didn't work for a while on 8 March. This has been fixed. [14][15]

Article about Draft:Elektra Wagenrad
Hi,
you declined the article. Unfortunately I don't understand what you expect me to do now. Elektra Wagenrad is a mesh-technology pioneer. With inventing the BATMAN protocol, she has built the foundation for community mesh networks. This has an extreme impact not only in third world countries, but also in first world countries. She is one of the founders of Freifunk and helped founding LibreMesh. Freifunk is the biggest free hotspot provider in Germany and the special thing about it is that the network is decentral and community-maintained. That is a technological revolution in terms of communication that was never seen in history. Without her this would not have been possible, but Mitch Altman who built a toy (TV-B-Gone) deserves an article as a notable hacker? Tell me clearly what you want or assign this review to someone else! 95.90.191.63 (talk) 16:14, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- 95.90.191.63 Greetings to you and thank you for the questions above. If you look at the grey panel on top of Draft:Elektra Wagenrad page or at your talk page here, you would see the reasons of the decline of the submission. Kindly click on the "blue highlighted texts" for further detail information. In short, for an article to be published in Wikipedia main space, the subject (Eletra Wagenrad) need to be notable where by the subject is talked about by significant/multiple independent, reliable sources (secondary reliable sources). The sources content need to directly focus on the subject and not merely passing mentioned. The sources you provided are not independent as they are affiliated/associated with the subject as such they are also considered not reliable. For details source types and explanation, pls see HERE. If you could kindly register and let me know if anything else I could help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk)
Tony Ferguson - photo in Wikipedia
Hi,
I have made a revision to the photo on Tony Ferguson's (MMA) page as he had tweeted asking someone to change it as he felt the original picture was an attempt at bullying him and was not a good picture so I made a change at that request — Preceding unsigned comment added by Potijelli (talk • contribs) 21:08, 12 March 2019 (UTC) Potijelli (talk) 21:10, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Potijelli

- @Potijelli and Sriharsha Nayak: (inlcude Sriharsha Nayak here) Good day and thank you for the info and question above. Potijelli, The photo you have uploaded could not be used and it will be taken down soon. Wikipedia can ONLY use photos/images taken and uploaded by the "copyright holders" (the photographer) where by the copyright holders willing to irrevocably release the source material (photos/images/files) under the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC BY-SA) or a CC BY-SA-compatible license. Please note that Wikipedia takes copy violation very seriously as it entails legal implications. See Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Uploading images for further details information. If you have taken any UFC fighters' photos (which mean you are the copyright holders) and willing to irrevocably release the photos then you could upload the photos into WikiCommon and in turn they would be used in Wikipedia. Also, content added/changed need to be support by secondary reliable sources (independent of the subject from reliable sources), or they might/could be deleted.
