User talk:Everettclinic
A tag has been placed on The Everett Clinic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Peasantwarrior (talk) 19:37, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article The Everett Clinic, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;

[edit]As the largest non-union health care employer in the state of Washington, and one of the largest health care providers for patients statewide - this article merits inclusion in Wikipedia. --Everettclinic (talk) 19:59, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Nevertheless, you are in breach of WP:COI and WP:ADS, as far as I can see. Read those two guidelines, please, especially the first one. You should not write articles about yourself/your company. Peasantwarrior (talk) 20:05, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
So why then is it okay for there to be articles on Wikipedia about Harborview Medical Center, Providence Health Services, Children's Hospital (all healthcare organizations here in our state)and not The Everett Clinic. I am happy to put in more references on the strides the clinic is making in Medidcare advocacy, cancer research, outreach programs such as Healing the Children, and national coverage (US World Report) of our unique stand on generic drugs. Would that give it merit? --Everettclinic (talk) 20:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi! Your article states the notability of the clinic, so that's not a problem. However, as an employee of the clinic, you're violating the conflict of interest guideline of Wikipedia. In addition, the article you've created reads like spam. Take a look at the other articles you mentioned - Harborview Medical Center and the others. They are being written by a group of editors and read much more like encyclopedia entries.
- What I recommend is to add an entry at Requested Articles, watch what develops, and participate on the talk page of the article. Actually editing is against WP:COI, so try to refrain from doing that.
- Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 20:40, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
