I've dropped the track's speed myself and the non-synth instruments do sound more natural. I haven't found any information or citations online to back up the claim that the master was sped up, however – where did you gather this information? --Matharvest (talk) 14:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

It was in an article from modern recording magazine from the mid to late 70's. Something was said that there was so much music on one peice of vinyl for initiation that it affected the sound of the LP, why not 2 lp's? Todd said he didn't intentionaly make the LP that long, that's how it turned out and due to the plastic shortage at the time it had to be put on one peice of vinyl, then he mentions he had to speed up the master tape for side two in order for the mastering engineer to fit it all somewhat comfortably on one side of the vinyl and still be able to keep some of the dynamics, although compressed. The only uncompressed versions of the song you could get at the time were 8 track and cassette, then CD later on, but the master tape was never slowed back down to it's original speed. Hopefully at some point a remaster will come along with the original speed of side 2. That's all I have, just from memory. I don't have a issue number of the magazine unfortunately. It is somewhat common knowledge in the Rundgren fandom though.
