I added it back
I added where I got the picture from. It was taken by a member there, and I asked the admin of the website if I could use it, and also the member who posted it, both saying yes. Stop removing it, it's free and better than that stupid, dark, picture. You can't even see John or Anthony in there.
Well, I'm going to keep adding it back, because the member who took the picture said I could use it. So, ha. Xihix 17:32, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
As far as I know it, people who take take a picture own that picture. I have a baby picture of myself. My momma took it, and I can let anyone use it as long as I say they can. Same thing has happened here with the member. Therefore, it is a free image that we can use, that is better than the other picture. Xihix 17:38, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Until you can prove your claim is correct, I will revert any picture edit you do. It's staying. Xihix 17:42, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
"The picture is obviously a promotional shot during an interview with the band. Someone from the interview crew most probably took the picture, therefore the company which interviewed the group owns that image." Prove that. I atleast have someone of a third party saying they took it, all you have is speculation. Xihix 17:46, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
If you can't prove it, then don't remove it. I already told you that he took the image, therefore he owns the copyrights for it. They did not say where the image was taken, but it looks like it was on a field. It was taken by the member. It was most likely taken to showcase to people and the other members of the forum. Xihix 17:53, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Alert them. Unless he says anything to me, I will add the picture back. He said he took it, he owns it, and it will stay. Xihix 17:59, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Hurrr, vandalism
What do I do when this IP address is clearly shared? Do I make my own account for when I want to browse Wikipedia so I do not get blocked? --202.43.226.11 00:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism??
I removed erroneous information from the article Andrew Preston that had nothing to do with the subject of the article. Someone with the same name as the subject added information about himself, but the article is about the late businessman. Before you revert anything, look into why revisions were made. You enjoy playing policeman, but you are doing a terrible job at actually policing by readding that "information"!! 24.149.237.77 05:35, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Please give up removing "rap" and "pop" from its intro. Some of their songs (especially from the first five albums) feature rap vocals, others incorporate also catchy pop rock elements. -- Egr (talk), 10/21/2006
- I refer to Kiedis' VOCALS, not to their backgrounds (clearly not hip hop-influenced). Their vocalist himself claims to draw its style from artists such as Kurtis Blow, Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. The problem is that most of their fans (including you, perhaps?) deny these facts. -- Egr (talk), 10/21/2006

- There is no problem for me. I currently fight much worse cases here (e.g. Linkin Park). -- Egr (talk), 10/21/2006
Ok thank you, I've made some small edits as it had some odd word choices. Also there were more than a few minor hints of pov, including the term "Awe Inspiring" to describe an album.
Neutrality
Why did you put in the neutrality claim? Alan Davidson
OK. I have taken it down. I suggest you put something on the discussion page; perhaps lead the discussion about this. There is indeed a criticism section on the site. Alan Davidson
Orphaned fair use image (Image:RedHotChiliPepperLogo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:RedHotChiliPepperLogo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 11:53, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Flea Singing
Hi, I keep putting up that Flea sings some parts of the song in live versions, and someone keeps deleting that part, can u stop! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sluggo34 (talk • contribs) 02:40, 8 December 2006 (UTC).
I think it can be nice
This wikipedia page cites this article as an example : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layla http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Songs As you can see, it is described almost verse by verse. I am put my addition back.
Well, Wikipedia says that a good article is like that...And I strongly believe that the 10 year old John Frusciante wannabe here is you. Nevermind.
Fair use images in RHCP article
I think that the album cover images are only fair use in the album articles. Sorry, but I don't think we can have them here. --Guinnog 03:25, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, neither your opinion nor the fact that it has been there for a year are deciding arguments here. If you look at the small print on Image:RedHotChiliPeppersBloodSugarSexMagik.jpg, you will see:
- "This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers
- solely to illustrate the audio recording in question,..."
- Sorry, and I wish it were otherwise. --Guinnog 03:44, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Rock music invitation
Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.
Rock on.

Image:RedhotchilipeppersBTW.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:RedhotchilipeppersBTW.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 01:28, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:EarlyRHCP.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:EarlyRHCP.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 01:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've tagged Image:RHCPBTW.jpg for the same reason. ShadowHalo 01:33, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- I can assure you I didn't just fail it for the image problems (just take a look at the checklist, my comments, and Teemu08's comments). I'm not going to keep you from renominating, but I'm going to add a note that the reviewer should consider look at both of our comments on the talk page when reviewing. ShadowHalo 03:28, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
I've removed the "on hold" notices. I did not put the article on hold; I failed it. There's no sign at all that Teemu08 put the article on hold either. In this diff, (s)he said that (s)he would have failed the article had I not done so and the edit summary of this edit is "failed nom". If you think you have addressed the issues, that's fine, but do not make misleading statements like this. ShadowHalo 02:38, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
I appreciate the kind words, I think we've done a great job on this article. 75pickup (talk · contribs) 02:42, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Your revert on Trojan War
you reverted to vandalized version. →AzaToth 19:43, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Likewise, you reverted to a vandalized version on Joseph Brant. Reverting to a vandalized version is actually worse than not reverting at all, because you create the mistaken impression that you've cleaned up the problem, and create the possibility that good text will be removed and overlooked. —Kevin 22:15, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi!
Hello, this is Sluggo34 and can u please tell me how to do the little boxes that say stuff like this user is a fan of red hot chili peppers? thx Sluggo34
Hi, i put the brackets but it only put it above the thing, and i still can't get the user box thing to work thx. Sluggo34
I was also wondering if i could join the red hot chili peppers wiki project u made, because i think i would be able to help thx (again!)Sluggo34
Re: Vandalism
Hi, are you intending to revert me every time I clean up a disambiguation page full of excessive redlinks, in accordance with applicable guidelines? It could be a long night. And, you could at least have made a section header for your warning. It has little to do with the template I was working on earlier today. Thanks – Qxz 00:01, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh dear. Please accept my humblest apologies. I was running through Recent Changes with VP rather quickly and saw the deletion which was made to a Disambiguation page, without actually check what the edit was. Once again, I am deeply sorry for an incontinence I may have caused, and with your permission, will remove my previous message. Once again, sorry!! NSR77 (Talk|Contribs)
- That's quite all right. I suppose it's my fault for not leaving a more detailed summary, like "removing excessive redlinks from disambiguation page in accordance with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) this is not vandalism please do not revert it" rather than "format". I'm assuming the word "incontinence" in your previous message is a typo? Rest assured I have not suffered from that as a result of your edit. All the best – Qxz 00:06, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's OK, I'll leave your message there for decorative purposes. Thanks – Qxz 00:07, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
RHCP
Well, if I'm going to do a lot of clean up, it makes more sense for me to just edit the article as opposed to pointing it all out for you. But, if I do edit it, I can't re-evaluate it. -- Scorpion 13:16, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Pop Rock
i say it cause u are a RHCP fan..all music critics could say to you than in last 2 albums there is a lot of Pop Rock.. i know that for a rhcp fan know that his fav band play pop rock could be offensive..but trust me , i'm a chili fan, i start to love rhcp a lot years ago,i'm moderator on italian site: if i write Pop rock is not for discredit RHCP but for write the truth. there is a lot of reviews on net about last 2 albums that consider it POP ROCK, just go on google.com and search them.
at last..other countries wikipedia RHCP page describe them pop rock sometimes..if u want leave the En version without it ok..but at least don't write Heavy Metal, they have never played heavy metal..there is already Funk Metal that is a style, a movement with a lot of bands with different sound : chili was funkpunkraprock..fishbone funkskapunk..faith no more metalfunkrap ecc.
REviews
- Rolling Stone : http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/album/129713/by_the_way
"With the accomplished, insanely melodic By the Way, the Red Hot Chili Peppers dive headfirst into the POP"
"Daring and inventive, it takes the kind of stylistic chances and creative leaps that were once the property of the heavies of '60s rock and POP"
"through the band's well-traveled funk-POP stylings"
" the result is music that's more earnest and lofty than Californication, with a cushion of Beach Boys POP harmonies" "surf POP reminiscent of that song runs rampant on By the Way"
" pop-rock, hard-rock"
..only for example..

RHCP demo CD
I had placed the [citation needed] tag there because I was questioning the actual media (i.e. tape, CD, vinyl) the demo was recorded on. CD was still emerging tech in 83-84 and I imagine it would've been very expensive for them to press demo CDs. Cassette was a much more common demo format at least up until the early 90's. maxcap 22:31, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
