I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns with the referencing which you can see at Talk:Hiroh Kikai/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 19:02, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{memoryalpha}} changes

[edit]

I've left a note at Template talk:Memoryalpha regarding what appears to be an inappropriate use of the admin bit to revert a change which had consensus, and which means that extra work has to be done to keep that template in sync with proposals meant to affect all Wikia links. Help

[edit]

Do you think it's possible to put in collapsible code a small image instead show/hide text. (something like +/- used by google when you hide or show video- http://news.google.com/). If isn't to difficult for you, can you tell me what will I need to insert in code to put an image. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.25.229.138 (talk) 20:19, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting Your Help

[edit]

Ruud, thank you for the welcome message on my user page Dan Quigley today. It surprised me because I have been making contributions for quite some time. Upon investigating I found the reason that you were welcoming me is because I created a new wikipedia page (pedagogic grammar) under the user name Dan Quigley instead of my usual user name DanQuigley (no spaces). Is there any way to merge that Dan Quigley creation into my DanQuigley user account, or am I doomed to now have a dual identity? Hello Ruud Koot, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Meat shield has been removed. It was removed by Muchness with the following edit summary '(rm prod from redirect; r to more accurate target)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Muchness before pursuing deletion further yourself. Collapsible tables and your JavaScript

[edit]

Hello! A few months ago, you have written this great script, and offered to make a few requested changes. I am very interested in your script in particular, because it is accessible to keyboard. You are also using alt text on the icon, which is great. Cacycle's script is not bad, but people using screen readers won't be able to use it. A french accessibility expert tested your script, and made a few comments, I will be glad to translate them to you if you are interested.

If you accept it, my request would be to add "show/hide" text next to the icon. Many users are not familiar with a box that uncollapse with an icon only. Plus the community is used to the "show/hide" button. In order to make the collapsible box more user-friendly, we need both the icon and the "show/hide" text.

Australian Open men's singles champions show

So, is it okay for you? Do you have time to take care of this request? Yours, Dodoïste (talk) 03:07, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I have some time this weekend. Are there any other usability issues with it that should be fixed as well? Cheers, —Ruud 14:17, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Great, many thanks ! :-) Well, having the "show/hide" button closer to the title would be a major bonus. Be people have told me that it's pretty hard to do, so this improvement is not a priority.
Tennis at the Summer Olympics · Olympic Champions in men's doubles show
Here is the review from the french accessibility expert:
  • accessible if javascript is not supported: OK.
  • Keyboard Compatibility: OK.
  • ALT of the icon : OK. But use the TITLE on the link A rather than on the image. And always use the same text in the ALT and TITLE (we do not know wich one will be used by a technical aid).
  • A best practice in javascript development: do not apply directly the CSS propreties in a STYLE attribute generated by the script (color of the button). Rather make it generate a CLASS attribute whose properties are defined in a style sheet. Properties defined in an external style sheet are way much easier to adjust to adapt to specific needs of users and to different skins. Cases when a script really need to generate a STYLE attribute are rare and really specific.
Thanks again for your help! :-) Yours, Dodoïste (talk) 02:13, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oosthoeks Encyclopedie

[edit]

Hi Ruud, by chance i ran into this image File:OosthoeksEncyclopedieDruk1.jpg. It's currently marked as PD, but the work is from after 1 january 1923. As such both in the US as in the Netherlands it would be 70 years after the last living author of the work before the copyright would expire. (Before 1923 it would be 50+life of author in the netherlands and PD in the US). —TheDJ (talkcontribs) 14:27, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
