Anyone who does much work in NPP or AFC will make errors. I suspect that for good reviewers 2% to 5% is about the usual rate, and I don't think anyone can really do better than 1%. I make errors, I think about 2% in both processes, people tell me about some of them. Some are just slips of the mouse i selecting from the list of reasons. There similarly seem to be a few errors in a few of your recent AfC reviews at about the same rate as mine:
- You recently rejected Draft:R. K. Chetty Pandipati for the reason " This article contains external links. They are not permitted in the article's body. Use references instead." That's not really a reason for rejecting an AfC. It's the sort of thing that can be easily fixed in mainspace-- wither by removing them or by converting them into references. Since he's an IEEE Fellow, which is unquestionably notable by WP:PROF, I accepted it. It needs further work, like most bios.
- You declined Deeft:Hugo_Gottesmann when the content was at this stage for "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources" But every element of significance was well supported, and the article would clearly have passed AfD (he unquestionably meets WP:MUSICIAN -- member of a famous quartet, and prize winning recordings, and other considerations. There were some unreliable sources, but the article did not rely on them. I cleaned it up a little & accepted it, and would have accepted it in the earlier state also. It too needs further work, especially the linking to organization names.
- Catha (mythology) also has fully sufficient sources, even though not in our usual format, and should not have been marked as "not supported by sufficient sources" I accepted it also just as it was.
- You marked Draft:Dancing with the Stars (U.S. season 26) as no-context. But no-context means that one cannot tell what the actual subject is. This is clearly a season of a famous show. The season is in the future, and I doubt there is at this time enough information for an article , but that's not the same thing.
- In the other direction, you accepted Tel Haim even though it had no references at all. That's below the minimum standard. There may be, of course.
DGG ( talk ) 01:17, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- The first one was in the time I declined articles for that reason. Someone told me that I shouldn't decline for that, and I haven't declined articles for that reason anymore since July/August. Why did I accept Tel Haim? Because I compared the article to more of the articles in the template, like [1], which also doesn't have sources. I thought it was acceptable. Thanks for your explanation. I have no comment on the other 3. I might clicked too fast on those. Regards, -- » Shadowowl | talk 12:51, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Greece Debt Free
Hello, Shadowowl. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Greece Debt Free".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}

, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 16:52, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Bavli
Hi Shadowowl,
I noticed that you have been moving a lot of articles from the mainspace to draft space. It looks like these moves are automated (not sure if they are intentional per-article?). Although in effect it's a "soft deletion" process, there is no deletion rationale. While for one-line articles with just one contributor (usually a new user), there is a policy-based rationale for making such moves, this is not the case for more established articles such as Bavli—which has been edited by a number of established editors, and contains real content. Please note that having no sources isn't in itself a reason for moving an article to AFC or deleting it, especially when there is no dispute about the subject matter's notability. If this move was completely automated (no input from you), it may be worth tweaking the script's criteria.
I have reverted the move, but am afraid that the script might have made more changes that I am not aware of, that have not been reverted.

Hi there. I'm confused about why my article has been declined due to inadequately reliable sources? The series has been officially announced in multiple entertainment publications and websites-- including the three cited in my original article: Daily Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline Hollywood. I would appreciate your reconsideration and/or explanation. Thanks.

Request on 16:58:52, 22 March 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Ashlee444
Hello,
I am working on an article for Johnny Douglas (record producer) and it was recently declined due to being too dependent on Disogs. I have found many other sources for proof of his notability including articles in billboard and other music magazines. Many of The songs he has written, produced, composed, remixed etc have charted. He has nominated for an notable award with his work for George Michael. All of this has also been cited. I understand wikipedia discogs is not considered a reliable source however, due to his work being mostly of that of the producer and composer, the majority of his proof his found in the liner notes of cds & albums, hence the discogs references. If I remove these references would the article be approved with his billboard magazine, chart information, award information and the artist websites where he is mentioned as working on their work? I do believe this proves notability on its own based on what i have read about music notability. Or is there a way to cite the albums without using discogs? Thank for your help and reviewing the article! Ashlee444 (talk) 16:58, 22 March 2018 (UTC)Ashlee444

10:16:38, 9 April 2018 review of submission by DavidGSDavies
I have added two citation to the head. I'm afraid I had not appreciated that it was necessary for the head to be sourced when this was a summary of the body of the article which was well documented with citations.
I'm not sure that I understand the criticism of containing promotional words. I have made the following change which may help. The term "the Gross Process" was widely used in the 1950's and 60's, when it was the process was thought likely to become widely adopted.
This is no longer the case for both technical and economic reasons; I have therefore changed it to "the mono-chloride process".

Draft:Derek Williams (musician)
The Discogs copyright issue arose because I supplied Dr Williams with a draft of my opening introduction for him to verify its accuracy, which he then paraphrased and submitted to Discogs, without realising this would infringe copyright. I am the sole author of the material. Dr Williams has now arranged for this to be removed, so the only copy should now be that on Wikipedia.
Chrisdevelop (talk) 15:31, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
- There is also a large part that seems to be copied from his website. However, the review script is quite buggy when listing copyright violations in the decline reason, and I couldn't add a second site. Is the article copied from the website, or the website from the article? -- » Shadowowl | talk 19:01, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
- If you’re referring to the Home page, then yes, that was the same text that was displayed on Discogs, however that was also removed today following your warning, for identical reasons. The DW website Home page and the Discogs text were both paraphrasing of my Wikipedia article. The Wikipedia article was written first, not the other way round. I had asked Dr Williams to verify the intro text and was aware he was using it to update his website, but until your flagging of this issue, it hadn’t occurred to me that this would be tantamount to a copyright violation. The Discogs and derekwilliams.net website have now both been cleaned of this material, so now it is back to being the exclusive property of Wikipedia. Chrisdevelop (talk) 23:01, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Shadowowl,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether NGC 3545B should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NGC 3545B .

- The stub was translated from nlwiki. I could have added a infobox where the source would be maps. AfC notification: Draft:Lateral Force Transmission in Skeletal Muscle has a new comment
22:41:26, 24 April 2018 review of submission by Veet Nisha
- Veet Nisha (talk · contribs)
Hello Shadowowl!
Thank you for reviewing my article on the artist Andrei Rabodzeenko. I read your reasons for rejecting the article: that it "reads more like an advertisement than an encyclopedia article." I would be grateful for a little more specific direction as to what language has that character, as I understand the NPOV policy and tried to use objective language.
Also, your comment says that the article should "refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources." But the article does have four inline citations to external sources (reviews of exhibits), as well as a list of additional third-party press about this artist. So again, I thought that I had observed Wikipedia guidelines, and substantiated the objective significance of this subject.
I look forward to your response and appreciate your guidance.
Sincerely, Veet Nisha (talk) 22:41, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for your review. You said: "Nothing really changed since last review. Remove citation 6 till 14 , 16 till 22, 24 till 30 and 32 and resubmit."
I have removed most of those. I left in a couple that provide the page number for a long quotation from the book. This seems appropriate to me but I can remove those if you prefer. I also edited for brevity in a couple of places.
Please let me know if we should make other changes.

Hi, I've been trying to create a page on Theia, the singer, but it's just been declined because it says You Tube is not a reliable reference. It is only one of the references I supplied, and the link was to official music videos and many of them have more than 40,000 views, which clearly indicates they are from a reputable, established singer, which Theia is. Is this the only reason my submission was rejected? If I delete links to YOu Tube will that help? I don't know how to make the submission suitable? Please help.

Draft:Origin Suite
Shadowowl,
From the comment below yours (Draft:Origin Suite), the artist seems to not necessarily need a page. The album has numerous write ups to include a pretty important one by well known critic Brian Morton in the UK (in the Jazz Journal). If that is the only justification for not accepting the article, Bkissin had addressed it. It is truly unclear at this point what are the guidelines. The following is that Bkissin's comment...
Comment: I noticed a part of WP:NALBUM that contradicts my previous decline and comment.
An album is an officially released recording by a notable musician or ensemble is not by itself reason for a standalone article. Conversely, an album does not need to be by a notable artist or ensemble to merit a standalone article if it meets the general notability guideline.
- @Shelyric: Ok. I have nominated an album/song page for deletion before because the author did not have an article, and it was deleted. so I thought that was the policy. I have reverted my review and will let it over to another reviewer. -- » Shadowowl | talk 15:19, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Secondly I have added more sources in the references stating the importance pf the topic in media so can you help what Should I do so my article is moved to mainspace.??

HI, I could not submit my article I do not think it is an advert, it describes who we are and what we do. If you want I am more than happy to send you promotion material to distinguish. We use similar text for our press releases and it has never been an issue before. There are no prices or application links in the article. Can you please let me know which part of the text seemed to be an advert to you? I am more than happy to delete, but please give me some guidance, because me, and the whole team do not understand what is the problem with it.
Much obliged, Greg

- Hello Greg. A big improvement is to not copy any text from http://startupcampus.hu/en/scu . Also there are promotional parts. Let me take a random part of your submission.
Through the program, we wish to set up an „innovation acceleration system” to find and support the potential of universities and research centres that have not been exploited. The program aims to develop innovative ideas into new enterprises and to accelerate local R&D products and services based on knowledge transfer models and university incubation methodologies. Moreover, it helps young innovators to develop their entrepreneurial skills and broaden their business knowledge.
This is entirely promotional. I do not know what your definition of promotional is, but this is a straight-up ad. And the whole article is like this. I suggest rewriting the article from scratch, and I didn't even mention this version has no references and will not be accepted anyway. Regards, -- » Shadowowl | talk 18:08, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

I am having a great deal of difficulty in amending my article on Albert Reuss to suit your requirements. I have been accused of infringing copyright by quoting from the article https://artuk.org/discover/stories/albert-reuss-the-artist-as-refugee, and some of the wording which originates from that article has been deleted. In fact, I wrote the Art UK article myself, having been commissioned by Art UK to do so. Since that article and my Wikipedia article are about the same subject, it is inevitable that some of the content is similar or even identical. Following advice from one of your editors, I have been in touch with Art UK about releasing my text under an appropriate Creative Commons licence, and this has now been done, so I hope that will resolve the problem. I hope it will now be possible for you to restore most of the content which has been deleted, and accept my article.
However, should there be any further difficulty, I would also like to say that my work is thoroughly researched and my sources are provided. I have carried out a great deal of original research on this artist which has included obtaining copies of much of his lifetime's correspondence from an organisation in Vienna called "basis wien", as well as his biographical information from the Jewish archives in Vienna (IKG). I have also interviewed many people who knew him, and have been in correspondence with his niece in the USA. My intention in writing this article is to bring to the attention of the public the life and work of a much neglected but important artist.
