Talk page
An editor named Amaury has repeatedly removed comments from some IPs on my talk page and claims they can do it because they claim the IPs are a sock named Orchomen. A couple problems with this. First, the IPs accounts do not show they are socks. Second, even if they are socks, an editor has every right to leave a sock's comments on their own talk page. Amaury is apparently obsessed with this Orchomen, so much so that they have a section on their user page devoted to them. One other thing. Amaury also restored an expired block template to my page. Can you please deal with Amaury and watch for any more improper removals from my talk page? 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 13:50, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Widr, please see here, where I asked Rob about this situation. This IP is just posting this out of spite. Amaury (talk | contribs) 13:53, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Courtesy ping for BU Rob13. Amaury (talk | contribs) 14:23, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- This Amaury has provided no policy or even guideline that says an editor is permitted to remove a sock's comments from someone else's talk page. All they have is the opinion of an editor, who also provided no policy or guideline. And that other little problem still exists... the accounts of the comments removed from my page do not show those IPs are socks. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 14:04, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Please note that Amaury ran to another admin, BU_Rob13, only minutes after I posted my original comment to you, rather than just waiting for your response. It appears that if they can't get their way fast with one admin, they just go and plead their case with another one in the meantime. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 14:46, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

So why would you go to someone's talk page and stick your nose into something that has absolutely nothing to do with you? Do you enjoy escalating situations just for the fun of it? Does it make you feel important or worthy? What are you, like 13 years old? Seriously. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 18:13, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Requesting urgent guidance/opinion
Hi,
I saw your recent activity through AIV. Would you please take a look at a page move for an article with ongoing AfD? Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2017 NY Times Square attack. It is sort of urgent as the title provides false information; claiming an accident to be an attack. But that is my opinion, your unbiased and unprejudiced opinion is requested there. Thanks a lot. —usernamekiran(talk) 20:13, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

Disruptive IP editor
Do you mind revoking the talk page access for the IP: Special:Contributions/50.252.104.5. They have been blocked from editing for a year but have continued vandalizing their own talk page. I posted a report on AIV but forgot that the already-existing block would cause the helper bot to remove the request. Oops! Jiten Dhandha • talk • contributions • 17:45, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4
Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 813 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!
But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Indian university numbers weirdness, next editor
On the 19th you blocked RP singh love for continuous addition of numbers to university names [1]. Now what appears to be the user's alternate account, Rahul Singh Love, is back at it [2]. I assume it's meant to be phone numbers, but this ain't going anywhere good. I'd suggest shutting this one off as well :/ --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 08:04, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Elmidae: did a little background check in 3-4 minutes. It is a mobile number, registered to a guy named Rahul. Different sources are providing different surnames. Apparently, he is involved in document forgeries, providing fake degrees, "managing results", and similar stuff. In areas of Delhi, NOIDA, and the neighbourhood. At first, I was thinking it would be a girl's number, someone who declined user's advances and/or broke his heart. Meh. —usernamekiran(talk) 20:16, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Usernamekiran:Well that's depressing :/ Thanks for looking into it! A new IP sock just spammed the lot again; the persistence definitely points to some commercial/malicious intent. I made a report at RfPP, maybe semi-ing the lot will shut this down. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 12:34, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Why was I recently warned against editing?
Hello Widr,
I am confused by this most recent notification that my edit to the Dusty page was removed. The reason for my confusion is that both my memory and my history confirm that I have never visited any pages with "Dusty" in the title. I have begun edits on some pages but canceled them after I realized I did not have completely accurate information. In any case, thank you for your notification.

Hello W. This IP 68.192.236.182 (talk · contribs) has resumed their disruptive editing after the 3 month block you applied expired. You blocked this editor a couple days back for disruptive editing on a number of TV-related articles. They're back, still editing disruptively, as User:2601:5C0:4280:3D40:40B4:C59D:3721:A743 . For example, please see Designated Survivor (TV series). Rather nasty stuff on the talk page, too. - It's too bad it isn't possible to semi-protect all of Wikipedia for a few days. - BilCat (talk) 06:06, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- (talk page gnome) I'm often surprised how protection and blocks seem spoonfed in small amounts on Wikipedia. On the other hand, when thinking about it, I was a long-term IP address editor myself before creating this first account and at a certain epoch could not edit for a year unless using a system configured to use another IP address because my main gateway address was part of a range block (not intended for me). I was told that registering would allow me to edit, but still refused then. It reminds me how the open nature of Wikipedia also drove its success, versus previous more restricted online encyclopedia efforts (including Nupedia)... fortunately, this also results in a small army of volunteer patrollers and page reviewers, with admins supporting them as they can, all of that so far managing to keep it from completely falling apart (with the history of every public edit available also helping). It's an interesting phenomenon that still amazes me. —PaleoNeonate - 07:16, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi there,
Technical question, when a user is blocked for long-term vandalism, should all of the user's contributions be reverted? I went through a couple of them but would not know whether the edits made by this IP are factual or not. Thanks! –FlyingAce✈talk 21:52, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- It depends, but it may be best to let them be when unsure. Someone else will most likely revert them later. Widr (talk) 21:57, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
Reverting request
Hi! Your edit has been reverted at Love in the Moonlight page last May 31, 2017, and now the article has been semi-protected because of numerous IP sockpuppets from a blocked user that keeps on re-adding the "Philippine Reception" vandal and the "International broadcast" section. I hope you could undo and remove it. Thanks! -112.198.73.9 (talk) 04:35, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
Changes on Emmanuel Kwabena Bartels
Hi... You removed a changes I made to an article of a Musician Emmanuel Kwabena Bartels... The changes were highly accurate and confirmed. I provided a link to the artiste's website (you removed it). I also changed a couple grammar here and there --- Like 'PEE On Da Beat or Pee GH, studied at Mfantsipim School and later graduated from University of Ghana.' from 'Pee GH or PEE On Da Beat was studied at Mfantsipim School and later graduated from University of Ghana.'.
I honestly think these changes are supposed to be allowed for they do not defy any rule here. But all the same thanks. I would also like to know the full reason behind the removal - Maybe, I need to learn something else other than what I know from this very mistake (if there was one - Fully ready to learn from it)
Kindly respond.
