Example of where Cite Before Blocking would have helped

[edit]

In my case the inability of Admins to cite a policy violation caused a case to ultimately go before ArbCom where the ArbCom was unable to find a violation of policy that justified the original Administrative action. Unfortunately a small handful of editors failed in this regard.

Pervasive blocks by Admin who failed to cite a violation [1]

RfAr case where the original violation was never found to have existed [2]

Unfortunately in this case, while trying to demonstrate that the policy violation did not exist the offending Admins repeatedly blocked me, refused to demonstrate a policy violation, and worked to convince others that a violation occurred.

They even created new false violation accusations and failed to substantiate them as well. Their actions resulted in a disruption on Wikipedia. If this guideline were in place and followed, then an improper action could have been easily remedied. Instead ArbCom laid the blame of disruption on me instead of with the true cause.
