Moved from Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Johnuniq
- Why aren't the usernames of editors seeking to become administrators not named in the user watchlist notice that alerts editors of requests that are open for discussion? Onetwothreeip (talk) 05:11, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- I personally think it'd be slightly too intrusive to the individual user, but that's really more of a question for WT:RFA than here. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:12, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- I don't mean their real names or anything, just their usernames, which are already public knowledge. Onetwothreeip (talk) 05:50, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- Right, I'm just more saying there's thousands of editors using a watchlist a month, most of whom don't even care about RfA. Advertising someone's username to them will likely bring unwanted attention even if there's nothing private. Anyway, like I said, more of a topic for WT:RFA. - I'd actually support such a thing, but agree that this isn't the right forum. – John M Wolfson (talk • contribs) 06:17, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

- Can someone please hat or move this discussion above that has nothing to do with this RfA. --DBigXrayᗙ 08:13, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
