Again, I think this might be making too much of a jump. Some teams have GMs, some teams don't. Some have head coaches with some personnel say, some teams don't. Some teams have executives overseeing a personnel department, others don't. But for teams who don't have a GM (and all teams' GMs aren't alike in their responsibilities), putting a name in that field, "de facto" or not, is simply incorrect. I noticed that the team colors are being set automatically dependent on the name of the team being used in the infobox. Has this ever been addressed? I'm working on an article about the 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates (the Steelers). Recently I've updated the color templates to take a ''year'' parameter and I've now extended this approach to this infobox template. Now the ''year'' and the ''teamname'' will control which color scheme you see and the color schemes for all NFL teams should be historically accurate. I'm playing in the [[Template:Infobox NFL season/sandbox|sandbox]] with some tweaks to this template. Specifically, I've implemented a change to the navigation at the bottom of the infobox that allows the user to jump to the previous and next season articles. This change is primarily aesthetic and brings this infobox in line with [[Template:Infobox NFL]] which is used for the league season articles (e.g. [[2015 NFL season]]). There are several samples in the [[Template:Infobox NFL season/testcases|testcases page]] to allow you to see the change. As I know this template is widely used I've tried to find a number of diverse examples. I'd love to get some input on this change before I implement it. I noticed that the NBA, MLB, and NHL template headings link to both the league season and franchise articles, while the NFL ones don't. Here I've posted four examples, one from each league. I know the MLB season template doesn't have the franchise link, but I'll deal with that when I can. As you may have figured, the fourth template, an NFL team season template, does not link to either. Now, I understand that the NFL template has the team colors and whatnot unlike the others, and adding a link can ruin it, but I think the template editors can still find a way to install the links into the page (I'm not the best at coding, so I'm unsure; just adding an idea). Though pre-season games are less important than regular and post-season games, it also has a value.
Every Wikipedia article about a specific team's specific season has information about their pre-season records.
I think pre-season win-loss record should be included as an infobox parameter.

::Others have pointed out that the "logo=" parameter in fact exists and does the job of image placement (that's what's currently used at that page), so adding "image=" as an alternate way of invoking that would be great. I'm assuming the documentation is weirdly worded and these should apply to the league-wide awards instead of assumingly archaic team ones? I.E. Lamar Jackson would be listed under {{para|mvp}} in the [[2023 Baltimore Ravens]] season infobox.
