Joseph (1960) "functionally equivalent to a variation of" his four-layer system "with adaptive preterminal networks." Rosenblatt's book mentions Joseph over 30 times. Should one consider Joseph (1960) as the originator of adaptive multilayer perceptrons? Unfortunately, the learning algorithm was not a functional one, and fell into oblivion. undo
