The idea that Nairs are Kshatriyas is something that the Nair Community themselves put forward for obvious reasons. Please include actual anthropological citations. The Nambuthiris picked the Kings and the succession of Kingship was not hereditary; despite the fact that Nairs interbred with the Nambuthiris, via social systems like Sambandham and free-sex, the Nabmuthiris considered Nairs along with other indigenous communities as Sudras. undo
