This view is both value-laden and very outdated; numerous biomedical scientists today recognize aging as a "design flaw" of metabolic processes, where "flaw" is defined relative to human desiderata. undo

  • curprev 22:5422:54, 12 November 2020 NathanChapman1990 talk contribs 4,484 bytes −770 Removal of section, as it merely describes ageing in needlessly dramatic terms (e.g. “irreversible harmful effects of the human-biological time bomb”) and then uses arguably questionable references specifically related to advice for helping disabled people find purpose. undo Tag: section blanking
  • curprev 22:4222:42, 12 November 2020 NathanChapman1990 talk contribs 5,254 bytes −821 I have removed this entire section, as it not a description of gerascophobia. (It is a statement about how apparent physical and psychological weaknesses are more likely to make older people become victims of crime.) undo Tag: section blanking
  • curprev 22:3122:31, 12 November 2020 NathanChapman1990 talk contribs 6,075 bytes −1,812 I have removed this entire section, as it is just a long list of health conditions that can be associated with ageing. (The overall fear can be summarised under symptoms instead.) If a list is reintroduced, I don’t think hyperbolic and inflammatory phrases such as “desert dry skin” and “all of which only gets worse and leads to a dead end” are acceptable for Wikipedia. undo Tag: section blanking
  • curprev 22:2122:21, 12 November 2020 NathanChapman1990 talk contribs 7,887 bytes −16 Removal of 'Surgery' heading, as the short section covers two descriptions and only the first relates to surgery. undo

  • curprev 22:1522:15, 12 November 2020 NathanChapman1990 talk contribs 8,486 bytes −734 Removal of ageist quotations that serve to justify gerascophobia, rather than describe it as a debilitating condition in itself. Removal of sensationalist and unreferenced paragraph that dramatises ageing as something "even" children are horrified by and needlessly lists so-called "geriatric tools" (some of which are used by people of all ages) and the apparently "self-destructive effects" of ageing. undo Tag: references removed
