  • curprev 16:4116:41, 23 January 2024 Cavanaughs talk contribs 3,449 bytes +22 FRM will field their #36 car in this year's Daytona 500 with Kaz Grala driving (this is 1 of the races where he won't drive the RWR #15 car) with Ruedebusch sponsoring: https://www.jayski.com/2024/01/23/kaz-grala-to-attempt-daytona-500-for-front-row-motorsports/ This turned out to be a good pairing as Ruedebusch has been a FRM sponsor on Todd Gilliland's #38 car and Grala has also previously been sponsored by Ruedebusch in the Xfinity and Truck Series for several teams for the last few years. undo

He isn't returning to crew chief b/c he'll be pursuing projects outside of NASCAR (interesting- I wonder what those projects are): tobychristie.com/2023/12/14/layne-riggs-joins-front-row-motorsports-in-multiyear-truck-series-deal undo

  • curprev 15:0315:03, 30 September 2023 Cavanaughs talk contribs 3,597 bytes +14 Tony Manzer will be the crew chief for FRM's #36 car this weekend at Talladega driven by Riley Herbst: https://www.jayski.com/nascar-cup-series/2023-yellawood-500-at-talladega-superspeedway-entry-list/ He also crew chiefed Herbst and the #36 car at Daytona last month. Chris Lawson, who crew chiefed the car at Daytona in February with Zane Smith and Talladega in April with Todd Gilliland, was at Milwaukee that weekend crew chiefing Zane Smith's #38 truck (his full-time job). undo
  • curprev 14:5914:59, 30 September 2023 Cavanaughs talk contribs 3,583 bytes +49 Brett Moffitt, who drove for FRM in 2015 in the Cup Series, winning Rookie of the Year, returns to FRM today to drive a second truck for them in today's Truck Series race at Talladega, the #34 (RBR uses that number but I guess they must've asked them to use it for this race plus RBR's #34 truck isn't entered in this race) and it'll be a throwback to his 2015 paint scheme- pretty cool! tobychristie.com/2023/09/25/front-row-motorsports-to-field-second-truck-entry-with-brett-moffitt-at-talladega undo

  • curprev 20:5520:55, 21 August 2023 Cavanaughs talk contribs 3,534 bytes +19 FRM has entered their #36 car into this weekend's Cup Series race at Daytona. Riley Herbst will drive it and Monster Energy will be the sponsor: https://www.jayski.com/nascar-cup-series/2023-nascar-coke-zero-sugar-400-at-daytona-international-speedway-entry-list/ I'm surprised that RWR didn't field a third car for him in this race instead. SHR drivers such as him, Cole Custer and Jenson Button, have driven RWR cars this year. undo

  • curprev 00:5300:53, 3 March 2023 Cavanaughs talk contribs 3,432 bytes +63 Good news: FRM found a sponsor (Ruedebusch) for Todd Gilliland for the race at Talladega in April and they will field the #36 car for him. This is one of the races where Zane Smith will replace Gilliland in the #38 car. For the other races that Zane is in the #38, Gilliland will drive the RWR #15 car. As a result, he has a ride for all 36 Cup Series races this year: https://www.jayski.com/2023/03/02/front-row-to-run-third-car-at-talladega-for-todd-gilliland/ undo

  • curprev 22:5922:59, 7 February 2023 Cavanaughs talk contribs 3,369 bytes +42 Surprising news from FRM today- Todd Gilliland has unfortunately been kicked out of the #38 car in favor of Zane Smith for some races of Zane's part-time Cup Series schedule with FRM. The team as of now is only scheduled to field a part-time third car (the #36) for Zane in the Daytona 500. undo

Competition director Derrick Finley has returned as Alfredo's interim crew chief on the #38 like he was at Sonoma and car chief Jason Sheets will be McDowell's interim crew chief on the #34: https://www.jayski.com/2021/08/28/michael-mcdowell-anthony-alfredo-crew-chiefs-ejected-for-inspection-failures-at-daytona/ Also, FRM acquired some of the Yates team when it closed in 2010. undo

  • curprev 06:0306:03, 19 June 2021 Cavanaughs talk contribs 2,886 bytes +17 Derrick Finley (FRM's competition director) was Alfredo's interim crew chief at Sonoma two weeks ago when Seth Barbour was ejected after the #38 car failed pre-race inspection. In the Nashville Truck race, Chris Lawson was also ejected after the #38 truck failed pre-race inspection. David Gilliland himself was the interim crew chief for Todd Gilliland, so he got to crew chief his son- that must've been pretty cool! undo
