Kudingcha means "bitter nail tea" and refers to tea made from Ligustrum or Ilex species. Kucha means "bitter tea" and refers specifically to Camellia assamica var. kucha. This a very region-specific cultivar of tea, hence its obscurity and likely conflation with kudingcha.
