Following that traumatic experience, Martin took up playing the fiddle to ease his incessant crying. He soon learned he had a national affinity for playing the violin like a drunk [[Irishman]]. He soon decided to start studying the history of the noble art of fiddling, and later that year, Martin took a trip to [[Georgia]], the birthplace of his fiddler hero, [[Tom Tally]] of the [[Vitamin String Quartet]]. |

While in Georgia, Leland was visited by the [[Devil]], who was looking for a soul to steal, he was in a bind because he was way behind, and was willing to make a deal. When he came across young Leland, saw him on a fiddle and playing it hot, well the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and proposed a fiddle duel with Martin. |
