The '''Institute for Black Catholic Studies (IBCS)''' is a [[Catholic Church|Catholic]] graduate theology program at [[Xavier University of Louisiana]] in [[New Orleans]] that specializes in [[Black Catholicism|Black Catholic]] theology. It was founded in 1980 by Fr [[Thaddeus Posey]], OFM Cap. alongside members of the [[National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus]], [[National Black Sisters' Conference|National Black Sisters Conference]], and others. Its flagship offering is a [[Master of Theology|Masters of Theology]] program founded in 1982 with the help of Sr [[Jamie T.
