On Wednesday May 13th, the first illustration edit-a-thon took place at the picture collection at RISD. Usually, Wikipedia Edit-a-thons are about updating the text of an article, however, this event focused on editing the illustrations, charts, diagrams, and photographs within Wikipedia articles. A Wikipedia edit-a-thon is a great opportunity to publish unused or new work on Wikipedia and make existing articles better. It is also a way to re-think school projects that end up nowhere and see how the work we make in studio can help strengthen open source communities.
