Knock Out is the name of several fictional characters from the various Transformers universes. Although the initial character with this name were spelled without a space as "Knockout", later versions were spelled with one. Hasbro has registered the name Knock Out for U.S. Trademark.

Dreamwave Productions
Knock Out and the Land Military Team were captured and altered by the Decepticons to be used as weapons of conquest millions of years ago. They escaped aboard the Exodus with most other Mini-Cons.

Bonecrusher first appeared in issue #7 of the Dreamwave Armada comic. They declared themselves free agents upon reactivating on Earth. Nonetheless, at the request of Alexis, Carlos and Rad, they freed Jolt, Longarm and Sparkplug from Decepticon captivity and helped them save the Autobots from the Decepticons.

Later they were taken against their will to Dualor's moonbase. Following the destruction and abandonment of the moonbase, the Land Military Team stayed with the Autobots, where they were instrumental in separating Star Saber from Megatron's grip after he used it to destroy the invading Galvatron.

Knock Out appeared among the Mini-Cons in issue #18 of the Transformers: Armada comic book who aided Over-Run using the Mini-Con Matrix in the defeat of Unicron.

Fun Publications
Knock Out appeared in the text story from Fun Publications called Force of Habit. This story explained where he was during the events of the Cybertron story. Ultra Magnus was the commander of various Autobot ships sent to other planets in search for the Cyber Planet Keys. He also served as captain of the Iron Hope which was crewed by Bonecrusher, Grimlock, Ironhide, Knock Out, Overcast, Prowl, Quickstrike, RipTide, Skyblast, Smokescreen, Swoop, Wreckage and the Sky Scorcher Mini-Con Team.

Knock Out is the Mini-Con partner of Ultra Magnus, and also forms his head. He seems to be a different character from the Mini-Con Knock Out who appeared in the Armada series, and the two have even appeared in the same stories together.

Although Knock Out has three distinct independent modes (fire truck, robot and gun) he isn't officially listed as a Triple Changer. He also becomes the head and some of the chest of Ultra Magnus. He is an independent character from the Armada Mini-Con named Knock Out, and they have even appeared in the same fiction together.

Knock Out is an incredibly skilled and flashy fighter who is also very insecure. He always makes sure the other Autobots notice him on the battlefield. He hopes one day to become a combiner. He is considered young and inexperienced among the Autobots.

When he first came to Earth he choose a holographic driver which looked like a famous 1950's rebel film character.

Books
Knock Out first appears among the Autobot members of N.E.S.T. in the book Transformers: The Veiled Threat by Alan Dean Foster. Knock Out trains among the Autobots in Diego Garcia. He later joins Longarm on a mission to Peru to find Decepticons that have been detected in the deep jungles. On a steep mountain pass, the party is attacked by Decepticons Ruination and Blademaster. Despite inexperienced and risky behavior by Knock Out, both Decepticons are severely damaged and driven off.

IDW Publishing
Knock Out appears in Transformers: Nefarious #1, set months after the events of the 2009 film. Bumblebee, Breakaway, Jolt, Knock Out and Dune Runner are sent to investigate spark fragments detected at Kingdom Petrochemicals. Arriving first Breakaway is warned by Soundwave to leave, but unwilling to give in the Autobot is swiftly defeated. Knock Out is the Decepticons' egomaniacal medic. His robot mode is reminiscient of Beast Wars Terrorsaur. Despite being a medic, he admits he is better at breaking than fixing when Starscream called him in to help with Megatron's recovery. However throughout the series, Knock Out has proven to be a competent medic such as replacing Megatron’s arm with the arm of a deceased Prime and transplanting Starscream’s T-Cog. Knock Out is extremely concerned with his form and paint work, becoming enraged when he is damaged or scratched. His alternate mode is a red sports car, a modern take of an Aston Martin DBS V12. Knockout would often be partnered with Breakdown until his death.

Animated series
In "Deus ex Machina", Knock Out and Breakdown were called in by Starscream to help in Megatron's recovery by insistence of the rest of the Decepticons. However they were quickly drawn into a plot to steal an Energon Harvester from a museum, battling against the Autobots also trying to recover the artifact. Knock Out and Breakdown watched as Starscream prepared to utilise the Energon Harvester, however Bulkhead destroyed it, and so they retreated when more Autobots showed up.

In "Speed Metal", Knockout starts neglecting his duties repairing Megatron, developing an interest in illegal street racing, and during one such race forced a driver off the road after he scratched his paint job. Despite being told off by Starscream, Knock Out enters a race, which Jack and Bumblebee are also involved in. He tries to terminate Bumblebee, and instead kidnaps another racer, Vince, whom he assumed was Bumblebee's human partner. After calling in Breakdown as backup for his ambush, they fought the Autobots who had come to rescue Vince, and Knock Out escapes, but not until after Optimus Prime rips off his door and rescues Vince. Later, Starscream punishes him for disobeying orders.

During "Sick Mind", Starscream offers him the second-in-command post if he convinces Soundwave that they should take Megatron off life-support. However after discovering the Autobots have done something to Megatron's body, Soundwave denies the option. In "Out of His Head", Knock Out tries to prove himself worthy to Starscream as his second-in-command by ordering Breakdown to attack the Autobots trying to halt their plans to gather Energon. However he failed to notice Optimus sneaking up behind them, and as a result their plan was ruined. In "Shadowzone", following Megatron's recovery, he attempts to repair Starscream, only for his patient to be dismissive of him.

In "TMI", he and Breakdown lead a squad to recover a Cybertronian data cylinder, and though they bring it back to Megatron, they find that the data has gone, and realize Bulkhead has it in his mind. They later track Bulkhead to a demolition derby arena, and try to locate him so that they can extract the data, only for it to be sent off into space. During "Stronger, Faster", Knock Out tries to locate new Energon deposits, and teams up with Breakdown to try and make the Autobots use up all of theirs. When Ratchet shows up at one of their mines, hyperactive on a synthetic Energon, Knock Out tries to take a sample, only for Ratchet to destroy the substance, though Knock Out later finds a single drop left.

During "One Shall Fall", Knock Out is part of the crew trying to build a new Space Bridge as part of Megatron's plan to find more Dark Energon, and in "One Shall Rise, Part 3", he is reluctant to obey Airachnid's orders to abandon Megatron on Earth, and watches Soundwave putting her in her place and is present when Megatron returns.

During "Orion Pax, Part 1", Knock Out accidentally allows Arcee onto the ship. In "Operation Bumblebee, Part 1", he retrieves an artifact from coordinates supplied by Optimus. In "Operation Bumblebee, Part 2," he and Breakdown are sent to retrieve another relic, and Knock Out uses the relic he retrieved before, a Shield Generator, to harry the Autobots before it is destroyed by Bulkhead.

When the Nemesis is damaged in "Flying Mind", Knock Out advises against using Dark Energon to repair it, with his fears coming true as the ship gained a will of its own and turned on the Decepticon crew. Knock Out suggested allowing it to continue decoding the Iacon database before it put him in stasis lock. When Knock Out recovered, he tried to attack Jack as he attempted to leave with some decrypted coordinates, only to be attacked first by Ratchet.

In "Tunnel Vision", Knock Out is ordered to lead a group of Vehicon miners into the New York subway to retrieve one of four relics, and due to Breakdown's death, Megatron assigns Knock Out an Insecticon as backup. While they were searching for the relic, he fights Arcee for possession of the relic, and later pursues Bumblebee to get it, but is defeated when a sweeper train runs him over, scratching his paint job severely, and retreats. Upon his return to the Nemesis in "Triage", he was ordered to dispose of a grenade in Laserbeak, and appeared jealous of Megatron's appraisal of Soundwave's success next to his failure.

In "Hard Knocks," Knock Out congratulates Soundwave for using his skills to decode the coordinates of the second Omega Key. Megatron assigns Dreadwing to work with Knock Out to find the second Omega Key. Arcee and Bumblebee find the second Omega Key as Knock Out arrives. Knock Out attacks Bumblebee and Arcee with a sonic weapon he borrowed from Soundwave. Knock Out manages to defeat Arcee and Bumblebee and claimed the second Omega Key. Megatron doubted that the Autobots had a decoy at the scene of the second Omega Key as Knock Out tells him that Autobots fought fiercely to claim the second Omega Key. When Soundwave finds the third Omega Key, Megatron tells Knock Out to keep his vanity in check as he plans to find out what the second Omega Key can do.

In "Inside Job", Knock Out manages to remove the last Omega Key from Smokescreen. But later he was outwitted by the Autobot.

In "Patch", Knock Out is somehow removed from the wall anyway, attempts to disconnect Megatron and trap him in Starscream's mind.

In "Regeneration", Knock Out transplants a new T-cog into Starscream's body, but runs away when Dreadwing attacks Starscream. He later gets into an argument with Starscream, and has his paint scratched. They attempt to fight with the keys, but discover that they form a map when put together.
