==You're a stupid fag who chould be kicked in the nuts==
Now I don't mean this as vandalism, but you seem like someone who should be kicked in the nuts. Maybe I'll do it grey wanderer. Then maybe I'll turn you into a positron accellerator molecular defibulerator. <small>—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[Special:Contributions/69.76.236.3|69.76.236.3]] ([[User talk:69.76.236.3|talk]]) 07:38, 5 September 2007 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

==Truman High School==
== Image:Mizzou MemorialUnion.jpg ==
The Wikipedia article "Truman High School (Independence, MO) has the wrong title. The actual name of the school is "Harry and Bess Truman High School." How do we go about fixing this and fixing the title of the article?

== Adding St. Louis as Missouri's largest MSA ==
I don't think cropping someone else's image (even leaving the original metadata) count's as "creating" as you stated on Image:Mizzou MemorialUnion Tall.jpg {{unsigned|Stevehrowe2|03:35, 16 December, 2006 (UTC)}}
Please stop reverting this article. There was a large argument about this before, and it was resolved not to put the largest MSA in the infobox. If you continue, I will tell an administrator and you will be locked from editing. I realize that you may have a strong opinion about this, but that is your opinion. If you wish to go around and tell everyone you know that St. Louis is larger-- that is your perogative. But the city of St. Louis is NOT larger than the city of Kansas City. Although the STL MSA is, there are too many factors and the figure is too indefinate. Putting MSA's in a statistical infobox like that is too controversial, because there is not a concensus anywhere about their level of importance. You said that they are of social importance, but in encyclopedias, that does not matter-- only factual information, and in this case only government recognized areas should be listed. An MSA is not. There are other states like Texas and Tenesee that do NOT list Metroplitan areas, despite the fact that they are in a similar situation to St. Louis. Again, there was a long argument on this before, and it was agreed to eliminate the MSA from Missouri's infobox, as long as it was clearly indicated in the text of the article that St. Louis has a larger metropolitan area. Again, remember that wikipedia is trying to be professional, and other encyclopedias like Encarta and World Book only put the information about the largest city. Maps are the same way-- they indicate the size of a city's "dot" by the city population, not metropolitan area. You may find this rediculous, but your opinion alone not backed up by an argument or facts other than your argument of "most people use metroplitan areas instead of cities" is not sufficient enough to change this article.

:: Please read the added comments on the Missouri discussion page. This issue must be resolved civily. You have your view and I have mine. Until this is solved, you should leave the infobox the way it was before you started this, as it left out "metro area" for more than 4 continuous months. You must make valid arguments and prove your points if you wish to add this statistic. Until you do, adding "largest metro area" to the infobox on your part could be considered vandalism. <small>—The preceding [[Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages|unsigned]] comment was added by [[User:Enorton|Enorton]] ([[User talk:Enorton|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Enorton|contribs]]) 04:44, 5 April 2007 (UTC).</small><!-- HagermanBot Auto-Unsigned -->
:In my opinion that was the best way to state it. I felt that I would be intruding if I gave the credit to you, because some photographers are very touchy about their work and a major change such as only using part of a picture might be found offensive. I created that version of it, from the picture you uploaded in the public domain (I admire that picture by the way). To state that "'I created this work..."' is the only option that works. On wikipedia when uploading a picture that is under the category of '''all rights explicitly released by author''' the only other options are '''copyright expired''' and '''not covered by copyright.''' If, however, you would like to give yourself credit for the work, then edit the page to say that. You might also remove your vandalism. [[User:Grey Wanderer|Grey Wanderer]] 23:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
:::I am willing to help informally resolve the editing conflict. I also noted this on the Talk: Missouri page.[[User:VK35|<span style="margin:0;text-align:left;color:#ff00000;font-size:80%;font-family:Tahoma;font-weight:bold;padding:0.2em 0.4em">VK35</span>]] 23:38, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
::::I'll wait to see if Enron (or whatever his/her name is) replies. The arguments were very long and I haven't read it very much so I come with a clean slate. It also doesn't matter to me whether St. Louis, Kansas City, or Singapore comes out as the largest city in Missouri. Well, Singapore would be wrong information so that's out.[[User:VK35|<span style="margin:0;text-align:left;color:#ff00000;font-size:80%;font-family:Tahoma;font-weight:bold;padding:0.2em 0.4em">VK35</span>]] 23:48, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
:::::I haven't heard from Enorton. I'll check again possibly tomorrow. I have held off reading all of the arguments in detail so as not to form an opinion beforehand. I'm usually logical and consider myself fair.[[User:VK35|<span style="margin:0;text-align:left;color:#ff00000;font-size:80%;font-family:Tahoma;font-weight:bold;padding:0.2em 0.4em">VK35</span>]] 18:32, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
::::::I have written 5 keys points on the talk:Missouri page that I hope that most people are in agreement. This is a step towards informal mediation. Hopefully, this will be a foundation so that the issue of Kansas City and St. Louis can be resolved. Once there is agreement with the 5 basic points, then we can proceed further and possibly reach a concensus in a few days. This message is being sent to several people who have previously written comments about the Missouri matter.[[User:VK35|<span style="margin:0;text-align:left;color:#ff00000;font-size:80%;font-family:Tahoma;font-weight:bold;padding:0.2em 0.4em">VK35</span>]] 18:42, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I have no problem with your using the picture or even editing it, but on first look, it looks like you are taking credit for work that you didn't do. I think it would be fair to simply leave the image un-captioned.

: Hows that? I just always like to put as much information about what I upload onto wiki, just so everyone knows its not copyrighted, I didn't really expect anyone to look at that page, since its not a terribly busy article. [[User:Grey Wanderer|Grey Wanderer]] 01:09, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and, I wouldn't leave it un-captioned, just because un-captioned pictures immediately flag a copyright violation in some peoples minds. [[User:Grey Wanderer|Grey Wanderer]] 01:14, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I recognize that you are not necessarily trying to stir stuff up, but you really shouldn't have made the redirection changes to the University of Missouri without some discussion first. I just now noticed that it was changed, or I would have said something sooner. I'm a Mizzou grad, so I'm not playing favorites, but I'm not so sure that [[University of Missouri]] should redirect to the Mizzou article rather than the system article. I won't argue with you about moving it to the "system" title, though.

Hi! I've just removed the IP address you added to [[WP:AIV]]. There have been no edits from that address for over 48 hours. IP addresses are frequently used by different people at different times, so blocking an address because of historic vandalism is often counter-productive. As it says in the big green box on the AIV page, please only report vandals that have vandalised in the last few hours. Thanks! --[[User:Tango|Tango]] 12:49, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm trying to understand the mention of [[University of Missouri]] in the initial paragraph of the [[Homecoming]] article. The citation in the school newspaper admits that the claim is disputed. Why remove the mention of the other two schools that I added? or would we be better of not to mention any? == Image:Hickman High School.jpg ==
Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:Hickman High School.jpg]]'''. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under [[Wikipedia:Fair use|fair use]], but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our [[Wikipedia:Fair use criteria|first fair use criterion]] in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

# Go to [[:Image:Hickman High School.jpg|the image description page]] and edit it to add <code><nowiki>{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}</nowiki></code>, '''without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template'''.
# On [[Image talk:Hickman High School.jpg|the image discussion page]], write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, [[Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission|requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license]], or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on <span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Special:Contributions|target={{PAGENAMEE}}&amp;namespace=6}} this link]</span>. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Images.2FMedia|criteria for speedy deletion]]. Why can I not be on the GBHS Marching Band section? Why isn't being the first Hispanic to become appointed as Head [[Drum Major]] / [[President]] qualifiable? There will '''NEVER''' be another Hispanic student in history of this school to be appointed as such, especially by a notable director such as Ronald D. How so? the term alumni As indicated in the ''[[American Heritage Dictionary]]'', an alumnus/alumna is either someone who has attended the school (or a "former student of a school") or someone who has graduated from the school.<ref>http://www.bartleby.com/61/57/A0235700.html</ref><ref>http://www.bartleby.com/61/56/A0235600.html</ref> Since he attended for a semester he would fit under this category. You're a stupid fag who chould be kicked in the nuts

Now I don't mean this as vandalism, but you seem like someone who should be kicked in the nuts. Maybe I'll do it grey wanderer. Then maybe I'll turn you into a positron accellerator molecular defibulerator. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.76.236.3 (talk) 07:38, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Truman High School

The Wikipedia article "Truman High School (Independence, MO) has the wrong title. The actual name of the school is "Harry and Bess Truman High School." How do we go about fixing this and fixing the title of the article?

Adding St. Louis as Missouri's largest MSA

Please read the added comments on the Missouri discussion page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Enorton (talkcontribs) 04:44, 5 April 2007 (UTC).
I am willing to help informally resolve the editing conflict. I also noted this on the Talk: Missouri page.VK35 23:38, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
I'll wait to see if Enron (or whatever his/her name is) replies. The arguments were very long and I haven't read it very much so I come with a clean slate. It also doesn't matter to me whether St. Louis, Kansas City, or Singapore comes out as the largest city in Missouri. Well, Singapore would be wrong information so that's out.VK35 23:48, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
I haven't heard from Enorton. I'll check again possibly tomorrow. I have held off reading all of the arguments in detail so as not to form an opinion beforehand. I'm usually logical and consider myself fair.VK35 18:32, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
I have written 5 keys points on the talk:Missouri page that I hope that most people are in agreement. This is a step towards informal mediation. Hopefully, this will be a foundation so that the issue of Kansas City and St. Louis can be resolved. Once there is agreement with the 5 basic points, then we can proceed further and possibly reach a concensus in a few days. This message is being sent to several people who have previously written comments about the Missouri matter.VK35 18:42, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

University of Missouri System

Hello, I recognize that you are not necessarily trying to stir stuff up, but you really shouldn't have made the redirection changes to the University of Missouri without some discussion first. I just now noticed that it was changed, or I would have said something sooner. I'm a Mizzou grad, so I'm not playing favorites, but I'm not so sure that University of Missouri should redirect to the Mizzou article rather than the system article. I won't argue with you about moving it to the "system" title, though.

Would you care to change it back and/or introduce some discussion on the appropriate talk page? Thanks.—Lazytiger 15:33, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I understand your concerns completely, I made the change after realizing that there were a ton of links to "University of Missouri" that really meant MU and after doing some research found out that pages like:
  • University of Texas
  • University of Nebraska
  • University of Arkansas

all direct to the main campus. I'll put a blurb on both talk pages and see what comes of it, but I'll wait to revert anything until I hear back, because I had to change a lot of links to University of Missouri System. Thanks. Grey Wanderer | Talk 10:03, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I've just removed the IP address you added to WP:AIV. There have been no edits from that address for over 48 hours. IP addresses are frequently used by different people at different times, so blocking an address because of historic vandalism is often counter-productive. As it says in the big green box on the AIV page, please only report vandals that have vandalised in the last few hours. Thanks! --Tango 12:49, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey Grey Wanderer!

We have read your comments posted to our talk page and we thank you very much for taking the time to help us understand Wikipedia! :) We are not that bright but we will do what we can to try to absorb these concepts!!  :) Also, we admire your spunk and your willingness to try to bring us around!  :) Since you said we could write you with questions, one additional question we have is whether you have an official role or if you are a self-appointed Wikipedia marshal! :) By whom were you appointed, oh Grey Wanderer?  :) It's a fair question! :) We hope you are not offended by our inquiry!  :) We're just trying to understand why you appear to be in charge of all the pages!! :) Hey, nothing personal!! Just an observation!!  :) Maybe you are in law enforcement?? Or maybe a kindergarten teacher??!!  :) If not, we think you should consider one of these!  :) You'd be terrific!! If you have some official connection to Wikipedia or some official designation, I will shut up and never ask again!! Hey, thanks! Enjoy Wikipedia! Regards from us!Splitsville 02:05, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Splitsville

Oh geez

OK, Grey, I give up. You're too nice. You have resisted my complaints with nothing but patience and only minor condescension (ck. sp.). Clearly I am too personally attached to the page. Guilty as charged. You and Tubahero win this one. I will slink back into my e-bunker and find other ways to amuse myself than tweaking and following my beloved Troy, Missouri site ("my" meaning my interest, not a reference to ownership of the page! Even I know better than that). I hereby abandon all attachment to the page--sniff--sniff-- tear---Perhaps there is another page I could take an interest in. I'll poke around and see.

But Zachary Taylor DID fight in the Indian Wars of 1814 at Fort Cap au Gris, where the city (town) now stands. It is on the historical marker placed there by the Mo. Historical Society. Doesn't that count?

Oh well. I hope you were a Colts fan. Best wishes.Splitsville 04:26, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Splitsville

Regarding Notability and the LSHS article...

I saw that you had removed the addition of Matt Lewis as a notable alumni. If you are interested, I made a few notes about that on the article's talk page. --Reverend Loki 22:19, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't see the information on the image page. You need to forward your correspondence, with headers intact, to permissions at wikimedia dot org (note that it's wikimedia, not wikipedia). Make sure that the photographer clearly releases it under cc-by, and not just for use on Wikipedia. Cheers, Mak (talk) 06:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Homecoming Article

I'm trying to understand the mention of University of Missouri in the initial paragraph of the Homecoming article. The citation in the school newspaper admits that the claim is disputed. Why remove the mention of the other two schools that I added? or would we be better of not to mention any? IMO - the reference is not neutral at this point. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by IBqwerty (talkcontribs) 04:04, 17 March 2007 (UTC).

I have posted my thoughts on the Talk:Homecoming page as you suggested. Thanks for being patient with me while I get my bearings. IBqwerty 05:25, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Rock Bridge High School

Hello! I noticed you are from Columbia, Missori. I was wondering if you could assist me in editing the Rock Bridge High School article, as it is in need of significant work. I am going to try to work on it some, but I am very busy in real life, and may not have much time to work on it. I think that the article needs significant amounts of work to compare to the Hickman High School article, but that Rock Bridge is a significant enough part of columbia to deserve the attention!

Thanks in advance, Ninja! 17:40, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

I can take a picture of the school or parts of it if nessecary.
Additionaly, I think the schools website ([1])
has some good information and could possibly be used for citations.

marching mizzou

I see that you are in Phi Mu Alpha. Were you a part of marching mizzou? I was and am looking to start/improve the marching mizzou page.

Image:Hickman High School.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hickman High School.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 20:10, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

GBHS Bands

Why can I not be on the GBHS Marching Band section? Why isn't being the first Hispanic to become appointed as Head Drum Major / President qualifiable? There will NEVER be another Hispanic student in history of this school to be appointed as such, especially by a notable director such as Ronald D. Mink![2]

Thanks for clarifying it for me. I thought that it would for other reasons but thanks again and yes, I have read the notability thing on Wikipedia. Now I understand.....hopefully in the future I'll be a senator or some other high public office and get myself known, haha! Thank you! Ksuwildcats10 03:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:031907frontpage400.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:031907frontpage400.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. My info says he never dropped out of college. You added the alumni category. What is your source?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 14:34, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

I've added a source from the Chicago Reader. Thanks Grey Wanderer | Talk 20:03, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the source. The source you added is not consistent with the category you added as an alumnus of the school. Can you explain your category selection.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 22:04, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

How so? the term alumni As indicated in the American Heritage Dictionary, an alumnus/alumna is either someone who has attended the school (or a "former student of a school") or someone who has graduated from the school.[1][2] Since he attended for a semester he would fit under this category. I've seen it been implemented this way elsewhere on wikipedia especially in cases where the subject had no other college experience. Grey Wanderer | Talk 22:18, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi. A user category that you are in has been proposed for deletion at Wikipedia:User categories for discussion. You are welcome to comment. Cheers! bd2412 T 02:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Barefoot Running ...

You removed my external link from the Running Barefoot page. I didn't put it there. It was place there a couple of years ago. I merely went in a week or so ago and revised the title to reflect the current name. Please don't touch it again. I also added Barefoot Ted's Adventures to the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Barefootrick (talkcontribs) 13:30, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

The links are inappropriate. Please read Wikipedia:External links. Don't hesitate to ask me if you have questions. Thanks. Grey Wanderer | Talk 15:03, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Do as you like I suppose. BarefootRunner.Org still comes up 2nd in rank when Googling "Running Barefoot" or "Barefoot Running", well above the Wikipedia reference for Barefoot Running. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Barefootrick (talkcontribs) 15:48, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
