Greetings! I've done a quick pass on your article. |
|||
First, it looks like you've successfully moved stuff over into your sandbox. I noticed that your article draft was in User:Serrekunda62/sandbox (which is basically your general sandbox). The WikiEdu dashboard sort of expects article level sandboxes so I moved yours to Americans. I left redirect pages behind so I don't think you should notice any challenges or anything (you should just be taken to the right place silently) but I wanted to let you know. I also made sure the Gambian Americans article was assigned to you in WikiEd (I think it was assigned as an article you were going to review instead of one that you were going to improve). |
|||
Second, I assume that you are not going to be working on the organizational communication article? If so, you should remove that in the dashboard too since it's currently also assigned to you as a review. |
|||
Finally, I'm looking forward to seeing your changes and additions to the article. I've seen that you've gotten started by adding a few sentences. Those looks great. I look forward to seeing more as you develop the article! —<b><span style="color: #C40099">m</span><span style="color: #600099">a</span><span style="color: #2D0399">k</span><span style="color: #362365">o</span><span style="color: #000000">๛</span></b> 21:14, 20 April 2021 (UTC) |

Greetings Serrekunda62! |

I took a look at Americans and the changes you've made there. The new images you've added are great and I love that you found some freely licensed images on Wikimedia Commons! |
|||
I'm looking forward to seeding additional text and references and such. If you're struggling with this, please don't hesitate to get your new text and/or references together and set up some time and I'm happy to walk through adding that material. Please do keep in mind that I'll be going offline for a week in about a week so it's really important you have stuff done so I can look it over so I can give you the "good-to-go" sign in time for stuff to move over. I'm looking forward to seeing the article develop! 03:45, 30 April 2021 (UTC) |

Hello Serrekunda62! Thank you for all the great work you have done so far! One major note, however. When making major edits to an article like Gambian Americans, it makes more sense to place your changes in the existing article rather than create your own. I notice that you are part of a Wiki Educational course. Did your professor tell you to create your own article as part of the assignment, or just do major edits to an assigned article? Hello! Thank you for reaching out. I am just supposed to do major edits on an existing article. However, I had a hard time moving the edits I made from my sandbox to the original article. Is that something you can help me with? Gayagaye (talk) 22:20, 17 May 2021 (UTC) |

:Hi Gayagaye! One way you could do it is by copying the information from your sandbox and pasting it into the existing article. Something that is a little more work-intensive would be to go into each section of the article and add the new information. I would copy the information in Gambian Americans (edited) and paste it into Gambian Americans, but then it will show up as one of my edits, not yours. That's why I think you should try first. Bkissin (talk) 13:15, 18 May 2021 (UTC) |

::@Bkissin , thank you for that suggestion. I’ll do that right away. Gayagaye (talk) 14:20, 18 May 2021 (UTC) |

:::Picking up on this convo, it seems the existing article Gambian Americans has been duplicated, with some new content added, and moved as a whole into the main article space. This creates a problem, because there shouldn't be more than one article on the topic, as explained above. (Also, the article title had the word 'edited' in it, which isn't in line with naming standards.) For that reason I have moved the article back to drafts. If I've misunderstood anything, please someone ping me. Thank you. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:45, 18 May 2021 (UTC) |

An article you recently created, Gambian Americans (edited), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. <small>(?)</small> Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
