Icingdeath and Twinkle are fictional blades, signature weapons of Drizzt Do'Urden, a fictional ranger created by R. A. Salvatore under the Forgotten Realms universe. They have been wielded by Drizzt since The Icewind Dale Trilogy.

Icingdeath
Ingeloakastimizilian, more commonly known as Icingdeath, was a white dragon in an ice cave in a part of the Reghed glacier called Evermelt. It was slain by Wulfgar and Drizzt in DR 1356, and the scimitar was found in the treasure pile of the white dragon, for whom the blade was named.

<blockquote>He sifted through the portion of the pile he had just freed from the ice, uncovering a gem-encrusted sword pommel, its black adamantite hilt masterfully sculpted into the likeness of the toothed maw of a hunting cat. The lure of the intricate workmanship pulled at Drizzt, and with trembling fingers he slid the rest of the weapon out from under the gold.</blockquote>

<blockquote>A scimitar. Its curving blade was of silver, and diamond-edged. Drizzt raised it before him, marveling at its lightness and perfect balance.</blockquote>

<blockquote>"A few baubles . . . and this," he corrected. — The Crystal Shard </blockquote>

Icingdeath's blade glows blue, as shown in Passage to Dawn, yet a slightly different shade of blue then Twinkle, and only in extreme cold temperatures.

The weapon absorbs fire and heat, protecting its wielder against fire. This magical blade saved Drizzt's life when facing the demon Errtu, defeating the demon's fire aura. In Streams of Silver, Bruenor Battlehammer fought with the shadow dragon Shimergloom and fell with the dragon covered with burning oil into a deep underground rift. This scimitar happened to be hooked on the dwarf king's belt, and thus saved him from the fire from the dragon's body as well.

In addition, it is possible that Icingdeath was designed to combat demons, as shortly after he found the scimitar, Drizzt battled with Errtu, and the demon was defeated in two stroke by Icingdeath, although it is more likely a result of the sword being especially destructive to creatures of fire, as the weapon as originally presented was a Frost Brand, a weapon with magical cold properties from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition.

Drizzt also noticed what he describes as a type of hunger emanating from the sword whenever a demon is near, which actually alerted him to the presence of a demon.

<blockquote>"I see that one of your scabbards is empty," he said to Drizzt. Malchor pulled a beautifully crafted scimitar from its mount. "Perhaps this will fill it properly."</blockquote>

<blockquote>Drizzt sensed the power of the weapon as he took it from the wizard, felt the care of its crafting and the perfection of its balance. A single, star-cut blue sapphire glittered in its pommel.</blockquote>

<blockquote>"Its name is Twinkle," Malchor said. "Forged by the elves of a past age."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"Twinkle," echoed Drizzt. Instantly a bluish light limned the weapon's blade. Drizzt felt a sudden surge within it, and somehow sensed a finer edge to its cut. He swung it a few times, trailing blue light with each motion. How easily it arced through the air; how easily it would cut down a foe! Drizzt slid it reverently into his empty scabbard.</blockquote>

<blockquote>"It was forged in the magic of the powers that all the surface elves hold dear," said Malchor. "Of the stars and the moon and the mysteries of their souls. You deserve it, Drizzt Do'Urden, and it will serve you well." — The Halfling's Gem </blockquote>

Twinkle's blade glows blue when danger is near. This power can be subdued if stealth is required. If wielded while the glow is active, it will trail blue light.

Drizzt wields Twinkle with his left hand, wearing it on his right hip when not in use.
