The 'new' 2018 league is essentially a continuation of the [[Scottish Junior Football North Division One|North Division One]] which operated from 2003. It was split into two geographical sections from 2011, with the lower [[Scottish Junior Football North Division Two|Division Two]] disbanded two years later. After five seasons of that setup, the simple three-division model was restored. |
