• Nine people between the ages of 15 and 39 are arrested in Hong Kong during a police operation, and are accused of building bombs and planning attacks on the city's courts, transport networks and streets. • Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announces that Inuk leader Mary Simon has been appointed to be the 30th Governor General of Canada, the first Indigenous person to assume this role.
