I majored in biology and economics at Washington University in St. Louis, where I completed my senior thesis on local slow wave sleep in the Lee Lab at the Washington University School of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Eric Landsness.
When I took Dr. Joan Strassmann's Behavioral Ecology course in my senior year, I edited the Glossina fuscipes and Mallophora bomboides pages.
