Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ubuntu-1.jpg)
Thanks for uploading :Image:Ubuntu-1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. == Cannabis Culture & Cost ==

Eleven years ago The Ottawa Citizen published four consecutive Editorials in four days calling for the legalization of Cannabis. Calling the Editor to commend him for such bold action, it was suggested an article be submitted for payment if published on the Op-Ed page. On submission, the Editor said, "Now we're going to have to shit or get of the pot."

It was published as a Letter To The Editor with the heart and guts edited out so that no reader would have a clear perspective or understanding of the issue. If you're interested, you can read the article in the discussion here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Joseph_Cormier and maybe comment on the images in the article. ==Women's history editathon==
Hey -
Sorry for the late notice, but since you have yourself tagged as living in the Bay Area, I thought you might appreciate notification that we’re having an event Saturday! It’ll be held at Hoyt Hall, an all-women's house of the Berkeley Student Cooperative from 3 to 6 pm tomorrow. The main event page is here.
Anyone is welcome to show up, but we’re expecting a significant number of people to come who have literally never edited Wikipedia before. If you’re an experienced Wikipedian who would be able to provide useful help to some of the newbies, your presence would be especially appreciated (and it might be a good idea for you to show up at 2 or 2:30 instead of three.
Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 01:59, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Aslaveofaudio, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! --Rockero 20:59, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

California WikiProjects

[edit]

As a California Wikipedian, you may be interested in the California WikiProject (and/or one of its 'daughter' Wikiprojects on Southern California, Santa Barbara County, California State Highways and California County Routes). Please take a look at the WikiProject to see if there is anything that interests you. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to contact me. If enough people express an interest, it would also be very easy to create additional daughter WikiProjects, such as a Northern California WikiProject or a California Politics WikiProject.

It has also more than seven months since the 2nd Los Angeles area Wikipedia meetup ([ 26 September]] 2005), so it is time for another one. There have also been California meetups in San Diego (18 October 2005) and a very small one in Santa Barbara (8 April 2006. It's also about time that the Bay Area gets its first Meetup if anyone is willing to organize it. BlankVerse 06:28, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Vw logo sm.jpg)

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Vw logo sm.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 03:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Audioslave article

[edit]

Hi there!

I am currently working on the improvement of the Audioslave article, now about halfway done, I'm opting to make it a featured article, but that is a lot of work. It isn't visible on the article yet, I haven't saved any changes, I want to save the whole thing once, when it's complete. I'm not from an English speaking country, I'm from Hungary, so I'm not really good in writing, expressing my thoughts in English, or not on that sophisticated level the feature article criteria requires, but I try to do my best. So the reason I'm writing to you is that if you'd like to help me in any way, e.g. finding sources, references, citations, any ideas on how to improve the article, maybe images, you're really welcome! Of course, if you like Audioslave as much as I do and would like to see it as a featured article. The best would be if you could help me with English, the grammar and stuff like that. So if you're interested I can send you the work I've done maybe in e-mail or some way, I don't think it would be good if I copied it to the talk page, it's pretty long and currently I'm just working on it in Microsoft Word. You can check it then and see if you have anything to add or help/correct. So anyways, if you're interested just say so.

Thank you very much in advance. Gocsa 17:40, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
