Halsøy is a suburb of Mosjøen, Norway, and best known for its football team Halsøy IL. The team won their division in the season of 2006, and will be playing in third division for the first time ever in 2007. Former key player is Ivan "nurket" Kleiven, but he left to play for Olderskog on Bosman transfer. The Bjerkeseth brothers have also been extremly important in the sucsessfull season of 2006.

Halsøy IL

Halsøy IL is a Norwegian sports club in Halsøy, Mosjøen, Norway. It has sections for association football and Nordic skiing.

The club was founded in 1920.

The men's team played in the Third Division, the fourth tier of Norwegian football, in 2007. This was the first time ever, and the club was relegated after one season.
