Road Trip: Beer Pong

Searches provide no indication that this direct-to-DVD film sequel (review: "Speaking of seriously bad movies, this juvenile comedy is headed straight to your local Wal-Mart bargain bin") is notable to the standard of Notability (films). Redirect to Road Trip, create a sourced section called "Sequel". Pretty much this is a case of SINO (Sequel in name only), as nobody at all involved in the 2000 original is involved in this sequel, and it's doubtful that it'll get high enough attention to merit its own article (if I'm finding out it's coming out on Tuesday only here, the marketing obviously has been incredbly awful.). Keep I added some links (NPR, Atlanta Journal-Constitution) to a controversy I'd heard about before I found the Wikipedia page. Plus the movie just came out a couple days ago -- I would think more reviews and such would come out soon. --AW (talk) 07:32, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment by nominator: I agree that just being a bad film is not grounds for deletion, but being a good film - at least good enough to get shown in a cinema - would certainly help towards notability. If we look at the criteria in Notability (films): "widely distributed... full-length reviews by two or more nationally-known critics... historically notable... major award for excellence... unique accomplishment in cinema... " it's clear that something like this is nowhere near, and the intention is not that every straight-to-DVD production that gets a couple of listing-type reviews should have an article - if the GNG could be used to achieve that, then WP:NF would be meaningless. However I see it can be argued that the fuss about the making of this film squeaks it past the GNG. I'll leave it to the closing admin to balance these arguments: I'm not inclined to withdraw my nomination, but I'll settle for a redirect, as suggested by Nate.
