Wikipedia Education Program- student survey! |
|||
Hi! I work with the Wikipedia Education Program, and I'm hoping to get your feedback about your experience this semester! In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it would be very helpful to hear from real program students about their experience, so we know what to change. [https://docs.google.com/a/wikimedia.org/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGV4azFpRVg5N0I4ZnFiUk1OMkdoOUE6MQ#gid=0 The survey] takes no more than 10 minutes, and I'd really appreciate your response! |

Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Rbouch2, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.
There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
- Starting an article
- Your first article
- Biographies of living persons
- How to write a great article
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Help pages
- Tutorial
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Ben Ben (talk) 20:18, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Hw2 sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page that you created was tagged as a test page and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ben Ben (talk) 20:18, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

I, and the rest of the hosts, would be more than happy to answer any questions you have! SarahStierch (talk) 04:43, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi I noticed that you uploaded the same picture a few times. File:Earth and Asteroid.jpg File:Earth Asteroid Collision.jpg File:Earth and Asteroid Collision.jpg and commons:File:Wiki HW picture.jpg. Usually in this case it means that some are superfluous and can be deleted. Which ones would you like to go? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:58, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Earth Asteroid Collision.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Earth Asteroid Collision.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
SuperMarioMan 23:21, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Intraplate deformation
[edit]Hi, I have moved your page to Intraplate deformation as it was moved to the Wikipedia name space by mistake. I will take a close look and make some more suggestions. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:55, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 05:44, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Intraplate deformation
[edit]On 9 December 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Intraplate deformation, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that tectonic plates in the Earth's crust are not completely rigid but can be deformed by the melting of an ice cap? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Intraplate deformation. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
