Hi, I noticed that you were part of an Electronic Music WikiProject. This sounds like something that I would be interested in contributing towards. How can I get involved? <small>—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Bravo November|Bravo November]] ([[User talk:Bravo November|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Bravo November|contribs]]) 18:06, August 30, 2007 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

:If you want to become a member you can add your username [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Electronic_music#Participants|here]]. In my experience there isn't that much difference between "being a member of the Electronic Music WikiProject" and just "being someone who edits electronic music articles," but I've used it as a place to ask questions and get other people to help with articles I'm working on (by listing them [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Electronic_music#Current_member_projects|here]]). Two etiquette things: you should put new comments at the bottom of a talk page, not the top, and you should sign your comments with four tildes (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>). Btw I'm sorry I put your page up for speedy deletion, there are less drastic measures that I should have takent instead.--[[User:P4k|P4k]] 18:17, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm getting to know the ropes, so thank you for your patience! My understanding is that if a quotation is cited, there is no copyright infringment. I'm not really sure what I did wrong, and now because the page is deleted, I can't even see what was there. But I know there was a citation!
Now, four of these squigglies are supposed to sign my name and stuff, right?

For example, on 6 April 2008‎, [https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=The_Camp_of_the_Saints&type=revision&diff=203637485&oldid=197766644 you added the following]: [[William F. This sentence of yours was worked on and others added to it for the next 9 years. But this week, an editor [https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=The_Camp_of_the_Saints&type=revision&diff=795144173&oldid=795142837 deleted both it and its context], under the pretext that «with Buckley's prose and particularly in this instance it can be hard to tell whether he's being serious or sarcastic or something in between». hey about your message on my talk page concerning this article, not only did I create the article but I added the DB tag. You see I created the page to link to a wikipedia documentary but I failed to notice that the doc was deleted, hence the ''Recreation of deleted material'' reason. Definitely didn't know about that. Thanks. The thing is, Anselm's argument is much more specific than ontological argument in general. == Camp Hermosa entry deleted ==
Hello.
You deleted the Camp Hermosa page today. In my opinion, it wasn't blatant advertising for a product or service. I added the hangon, and made a couple of changes, but it was deleted anyway. I guess I thought I might get some message of explanation, since I'm obviously not selling porn or viagra.
It was just an article indicating where the camp is, with its mission statement, adn a link to the camp. It's not a commercial business or product.

Any info you could provide would be helpful. Thanks.
[[User:Camphermosa|Camphermosa]] 18:37, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

:Actually [[User:Pascal.Tesson]] deleted it. It was probably unfair of me to call it "blatant advertising"; I guess what made me see that way was the "fun and exciting" clause and your username. I don't know what changes you made.--[[User:P4k|P4k]] 18:46, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have made previous anonymous entries on other things in Wikipedia, but I created that username specifically to work on the camp information here. I suppose when I see my local bus company has info here, it makes as much sense for people who are interested in the camp to see some info here. Pascal did reply, indicating that he forgot to reply to me earlier.
Thanks, anyways...

==[[BatchMaster Software]]==
P4K: You have added the notability stub on BatchMaster Software article. Just to bring to your knowledge, BatchMaster Software is the premier provider of ERP solutions to formula/recipe based process manufacturers.

Further, there are numerous references in the 'External Links' section to avoid clutterring the main body. BatchMaster Software has been profiled in the Microsoft website, APICS (The de-facto guide for manufacturing standards) website and there are several printed articles in the media highlighting the company and/or the product range, a few of which have been included in the external links section.

I sincerely believe that the inclusion in the notability stub is not justified and am removing the tag.

Hey,

Wow.. I never seen a discusion page for one person so long...!

About the comment you gave me. Can you please what I wrote that is a personal attack? Also, it should be worth mentioning that I just started working on the page and I wasn't done. Please explain how I could reword what I wrote so it isn't a personal attack. That wasn't my intent WHAT SO EVER. Thank you for your help. [[User:Carniv|Carniv]] 17:54, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

:Well, here's the reason the page was deleted:

:" It is a page created primarily to disparage its subject or a biography of a living person that is controversial in tone and unsourced, where there is no neutral point of view version in the history to revert to ([[WP:CSD#G10|CSD G10]])."

:I felt like this described the article because it was repeating a lot of harsh allegations without any sources. Thus, "controversial in tone and unsourced." To be fair it attributed those allegations to other people rather than just stating them as fact, but it still just seemed really dodgy to me. I'm sorry about the message I left on your talk page; it's a form letter that's not really that relevant in this situation. I should have left a more useful message, but you know, we're all volunteers here. I can't really offer you any advice about the article other than to read (or at least skim) [[WP:BLP]] and [[Wikipedia:Notability_%28people%29|wikipedia's notability guidelines for people]], and to work on it offline or in [[Wikipedia:User_page#How_do_I_create_a_user_subpage.3F|"userspace"]] if you don't want to worry about it getting deleted before you're done.--[[User:P4k|P4k]] 19:13, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey,

Thanks for the response. I guess I don't understand what it was that I wrote that was "harsh allegations". You also said it was "controversial in tone and unsourced", please explain how it was unsourced. Every piece of evidence (what little I had already added) was sourced from In Defense of Animals and Marilyn Carroll's biography. If you are saying this is an attack page because I'm writing about someone specific, I have found many many researchers that have Wikipedia pages. How can I find what I wrote since I didn't save it on my computer and rework it. Thank you![[User:Carniv|Carniv]] 23:58, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

:"harsh allegations" = the long list of horrible experiments she's allegedly performed at the end of the article. I don't remember the text of the article exactly so maybe all that stuff was attributed to In Defense of Animals; if so then you're right, you did have a source. I don't really think that makes the article OK, but then I never saw the finished version so I could be wrong. [[WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS|Many people have wikipedia pages who shouldn't]]. You can ask the admin who deleted the article (in this case [[User:JodyB]]) or another admin to see the text of it; I don't know if they usually grant those requests but I think they do.--[[User:P4k|P4k]] 00:24, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey,

What I added at the end was what the primates have gone through according to Marilyn Carroll in research articles she published. I do agree that it is horrible but I didn't make it up. I have persnally reveiwed many articles she has written and those are all things that she herself has reported. [[User:Carniv|Carniv]] 00:32, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

:Well like I said, I don't remember the text of the article exactly. If you cited her papers in the article then, again, I was wrong in calling it unsourced.--[[User:P4k|P4k]] 00:39, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

== The deletion of the Go Paranoid entry. ==

I believe it was you who deleted my entry for Go Paranoid, or at least you're the one who put a comment on my talk page. I was wondering exactly what in the entry makes it up for deletion. I contribute to the blog, so therefore I am a primary source for the wikipedia article, and the external link takes visitors directly to the blog. This is to see if the wikipedia entry and the content of the blog don't conflict with each other.

If I need to put a source for every section of the wikipedia I will do that. However, the wiki entry is brand new and I'm still figuring out how to work the interface—that is why I didn't put sources up first since this was just a first pass at the article. The goparanoid.com website also gets updated itself as well, and much like my now delete wikipedia entry it is a work in progress.

:If you read the message on your talk page, it says that the article was deleted because it didn't assert the significance (as measured by [[WP:WEB|these criteria]]) of the website. Also, creating articles about your own website is a [[WP:COI|conflict of interest]], but that's a seperate issue. If you want to work on the article without worrying about it being deleted, you should [[Wikipedia:User_page#How_do_I_create_a_user_subpage.3F|create a user subpage]], although my guess is that in this case there's no way you could make an acceptable Wikipedia article about this topic.--[[User:P4k|P4k]] 01:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi P4k. Thanks for the advice. I will take this up with W. Marsh.
How can I fix that first problem with the article that you said was fixable? Since it's a new company (as in, I launched it last Friday, 09/07/07), is there some way I can have a Wikipedia page still? I realize that there isn't yet any coverage for it in any verifiable independent well-respected publications or other information resources, but does that bar me from having a page altogether? It seems like it should not.

As the author of the most recent version of this page, I implore you to please read about the subject of the article, who was probably the single most well known individual on USENET. I don't know if you are old enough to remember this era, but I find the fact that there is no article on this character completely incomprehesible, and perhaps is due to the fact that the man has a large number of enemies who are active on WP. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Actually, you added some great content.

[edit]

For example, on 6 April 2008‎, you added the following: William F. Buckley Jr. praised the book as "a great novel" in 2004.[1]. This sentence of yours was worked on and others added to it for the next 9 years. But this week, an editor deleted both it and its context, under the pretext that «with Buckley's prose and particularly in this instance it can be hard to tell whether he's being serious or sarcastic or something in between». Just a heads-up. Be well, XavierItzm (talk) 23:23, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
