• * My only observation on the suggested hooks is that both may generate a bit of noise. There are those who get worked up at the suggestion that Kane is modelled on Hearst, and thus whether Xanadu is modelled on San Simeon, even though it's blindingly obvious that he was and it is. There's a smaller, but still vocal, group that get agitated by the Bernard Shaw quote, maintaining either that he didn't say it, or that he said it about somewhere else, usually St Donat's Castle. • Reserving this. Very nice article (but many paras look long on our new narrow pc screens, & no doubt even more on mobile). Why not a pic for DYK? First hook may be the best, but I think all are ok (agf on the quotes), though I agree some may be subject to last-minute nit-picks and undiscussed changes, which seem to be returning to fashion. GA, well-written and neutral.

No, I'm the nominator. I asked because I'm not very familiar with the DYK process. This is only my second nomination, my first one (which was an absolute banger, by the way) got quashed on a technicality.
