:: I haven't made any edits to [[Khanty]]. You must mean [[Khanty language]], right? There, {{diff2|1131388753|1130140754|your edit}} removed the <code>ref = e18</code> parameter from the {{tl|Infobox language}} template in the article. This removed the "e18" reference definition from the article, but that reference is later used in the article with <code><nowiki><ref name="e18"/></nowiki></code> to provide a reference for other claims. Since you deleted the definition of the reference, that other information is now unreferenced. The error causes the article to be added to [[:Category:Pages with broken reference names]], which is a category I (and others) patrol to help improve references. Since the reference leads to a resource that requires a subscription, I can't sort out how to fix the problem directly. Maybe you should revert your change, or maybe you can figure out how to update all of the article (instead of just the infobox) with the new information you want to include. Until then, I've replaced the undefined reference with a fact tag so anyone reading the article knows that some of the things it says aren't referenced. -- [[User:Mikeblas|Mikeblas]] ([[User talk:Mikeblas#top|talk]]) 14:59, 4 January 2023 (UTC) |

Brian Price Page
[edit]I agree that it would be good to have independent sources for many of the dates in Price's bio. He has been careful to keep out of the news and has never AFAIK been prominently featured on the websites of his employers. Subculture sites which reported on him often died without being archived on the Wayback Machine. I found a whois result which confirms that Revival Enterprises' website is still registered in his name (and an address in the same city as his current job) as of April 2021. What do you mean
[edit]On the Khanty page edit you said "replace reference abandoned by User:ValtteriLahti12 with fact tag; this seems like a pretty fundamental problem -- should the erroneous edit be reverted completely?", I am quite confused on what you meant with that. --ValtteriLahti12 (talk) 14:40, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- I only tried to update the amount of speakers, as the newest Russian census on the number of speakers is now accessable. --ValtteriLahti12 (talk) 14:43, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- I haven't made any edits to Khanty. You must mean Khanty language, right? There, your edit removed the
ref = e18
parameter from the {{Infobox language}} template in the article. This removed the "e18" reference definition from the article, but that reference is later used in the article with<ref name="e18"/>
to provide a reference for other claims. Since you deleted the definition of the reference, that other information is now unreferenced. The error causes the article to be added to Category:Pages with broken reference names, which is a category I (and others) patrol to help improve references. -- Mikeblas (talk) 14:59, 4 January 2023 (UTC)- ohh an accident --ValtteriLahti12 (talk) 15:07, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Why
[edit]Revert instead of say "hey, the ref is defined elsewhere". Be productive. Kingsif (talk) 00:34, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure I understand your question. The problem is that the reference isn't defined anywhere, so I removed these people from the list per WP:BLP. -- Mikeblas (talk) 00:53, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
