Latest revision as of 19:05, 12 June 2023
The following items have been included:
- Crossings carrying primary roads
- Crossings carrying former British Rail railway lines.
- The East London line and District line.
- Locks and bridges that have prominence in regulating the river
- Other structures to identify prominent towns that have not been identified.
- Non-tidal rivers that have an average discharge of more than 1 m3/s
- Canals
The conversion 1 sea mile = 6080 ft was obtained by calculation from the Port of London handbook (see below). This is different to the nautical mile of 1852 m.
This is a route-map template for a UK waterway.
- For a key to symbols, see {{waterways legend}}.
- For information on using this template, see Template:Routemap.
- For pictograms used, see Commons:BSicon/Catalogue.
Note: Per consensus and convention, most route-map templates are used in a single article in order to separate their complex and fragile syntax from normal article wikitext. See these discussions [1],[2] for more information.
Suitable instructions belong here – please add to {{UK-waterway-routemap}}.
For finding bridge numbers, canalplan.org.uk may be useful.
