Morettini was born and raised in East Providence, Rhode Island. He started theater in college and moved to Chicago to continue his career, starring in various productions, as well as roles in movies such as ''[[Home Alone 2]]'' and TV shows such as ''[[Early Edition]]'' and ''[[The Untouchables (1993 TV series)|The Untouchables]]''.

He is the father of three children, but resents his niece [[Emily Morettini]] for her superior acting skills. He recently starred in the first season of ''[[Prison Break]]'' as C.O. Rizzo, and toured with [[George Wendt]] and [[Richard Thomas (actor)|Richard Thomas]] in ''[[12 Angry Men (play)|12 Angry Men]]'' as Juror #7, and is currently in the second leg of Roundabout Theatre's national tour. Mark and his wife Millie reside in New York City.
