The Glomosporiaceae are a family of fungi,[2] in the order Urocystidales. As accepted by Wijayawardene et al. 2020.[3]

History

[edit]

The family was established in 1963, to hold the type genus of Glomosporium.[1]

The family contained 4 genera (Glomosporium Kochman, 1939,[4] Kochmania Piątek, 2005,[5] Sorosporium F.Rudolphi, 1829,[6] and Thecaphora Fingerh.) and about 105 species.[7] Until being revised to just 1 genus Thecaphora with about 61 species.[3]

Glomosporium, a former genus of fungi, formerly placed in the family Glomosporiaceae.[7] The genus was first described by Kochman in 1939, with the type species of Glomosporium leptideum.[4] The genus was later absorbed into the genus Thecaphora in 2008.[8]
