I added some data to the infobox, and adapted it to the format in use by wikiproject anatomy. This made it a lot larger, so I moved some images to the left and took out the cross-sectional image and the image of blood flow in the heart, as I think neither are particularly relevant to this article. The first one is better suited for use in the article on the human abdomen, or the more specific abdominal aorta article (another option is to expand this article by merging the subdivisions of the aorta into this article). The second one should be used in an article on the human heart, not one on an artery. [[User:Elennaro|Elennaro]] ([[User talk:Elennaro|talk]]) 15:20, 26 April 2012 (UTC) |

Should "sinus" replace "root" in the following passage? "The initial part of the aorta, the ascending aorta, rises out of the left ventricle, from which it is separated by the aortic valve. The two coronary arteries of the heart arise from the aortic root, just above the cusps of the aortic valve." |

It is in the text. It says the Aorta is the largest artery of the human body. This fact is that the Anterior Spinal Artery is the longest artery in the body. it goes from the foramen magnun all the way down to the medullary cone. this is written in the UpToDate website, and they quote this article: Hurst RW. Perhaps we should name the aorta the widest, or perhaps the highest blood output, but largest is a synonym of longest, and the longest artery is the Anterior Spinal artery. |

I'm no [[Quincy, M.E.]], but shouldn't this article be rather larger than it currently is? Could someone who knows the correct syntax add the expansion or stub tag as they think necessary? Thanks. |

...I hate you, natural selection. Sure, you humor us with a thick protective dome over our wonderful brains - but what about the damn aorta!? What, is my Goddamn STERNUM supposed to be my MVP here? Are you fucking KIDDING ME? |
|||
You know how many people get killed due to trauma to the aorta? It's our own damn thermal exhaust port, just waiting to be exploited by some homicidal rebel scum. We need to get behind doing some serious genetic engineering, so we can start wrapping-up stuff like this in some sort of internal carapace - all safe & sound. |

This is a good stub, but it needs expansion. May I suggest Embryology and Development, Physiology and Biomechanics, and Diseases expanded. Regards. [[User:GetAgrippa|GetAgrippa]] 00:45, 29 August 2007 (UTC) |

Pigs versus fingers.
[edit]Here a couple of human fingers together with the heart from a pig.
Perhaps not the best one here either, in my opinion.
