Distribution
This genus is endemic to New Zealand.

Description
Notoacmea shells are moderately large and rather thin, with a coarse textured outer surface, and within, a thin layer of enamel, leaving a dark border of the outer layer. The radula has long, curved, and erect central and inner laterals, and small and apparently functionless outer laterals.
