John C. McColgan was also more than a tailor; he was the owner of the Kamalō Sugar Plantation in Kamalō, Molokai, from 1873 until his death in 1890, as well as a plantation (known as "McColgan's Plantation") in ‘Ewa, O‘ahu. -- Lkdaue (talk) 21:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
Made changes to reflect this name. I realize that this conflicts with both Imada's naming convention and Clarice B. Made two minor orthography changes: removed the ʻokina from "Hawaiian" and inserted an ʻokina into "Kalaʻiolele." As "Hawaiian" is an English word, Hawaiian orthography does not apply. Kini Kapahu's Biological Father

[edit]

Kini Kapahu's biological father was John C. McColgan. John H. McColgan refers to John Hiram McColgan, Kini Kapahu's brother. -- Lkdaue (talk) 21:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Made changes to reflect this name. I realize that this conflicts with both Imada's naming convention and Clarice B. Taylor's; McColgan's middle initial is listed as "C" in an industrial report from 1884, annotated as source 1 below. --Lkdaue (talk) 01:40, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Orthography Changes

[edit]

Made two minor orthography changes: removed the ʻokina from "Hawaiian" and inserted an ʻokina into "Kalaʻiolele." As "Hawaiian" is an English word, Hawaiian orthography does not apply. Similarly, as "Kalaʻiolele" is a Hawaiian word, Hawaiian orthography applies. --Lkdaue (talk) 01:40, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
