Why is Elias Polk's list of occupations include being a slave? Clearly an occupation is something you choose to do. Slavery by definition is not something you choose to do there's no volition it is a state of being forced on an individual. It is not a job he was paid for. Slavery is an imposed condition. |

Being a slave is not an occupation
Why is Elias Polk's list of occupations include being a slave? Clearly an occupation is something you choose to do.
