The Arain of [[Delhi]] claim descent from Rai Jaj, grandson of Lava, the mythical founder of the city of [[Lahore]]. This Jaj was the ruler of [[Sirsa, Haryana|Sirsa]] territory, and was thus called Rai, a title used by rulers in ancient [[Haryana]].
