This article is extremely untidy, disorganised and has an excess of unsourced material. It has been tagged for a while now but little progress appears to have been made. I am not massively familiar with the ancient dynasties of India but I do not need to be in order to bring the content more into line with Wikipedia's policies regarding sourcing etc. This is a general "heads up": if things do not improve soon then I will be taking a knife to the thing. - [[User:Sitush|Sitush]] ([[User talk:Sitush|talk]]) 11:10, 16 December 2011 (UTC) |

Actually the period when the Malayalam seperate from Tamil actually is not stated in this article.Ok,please add these infos.Firstly Malayalis and Malayalam language had not yet separated from Tamil during this second Chera dynasty and there was no Kerala at that time as it is a part of Tamillakam.It is during the 9th-10th the Tamil spoken in Chera land begins to vary due to Sanskrit influences,however it is still major Tamil and significant minor Sanskrit.It is in the late 11th century(after the fall of cheras),the Tamils in Chera land developed their own language which is called Malayalam.Malayalam is major Sanskrit with significant minor Tamil.It is also during this period a distinct identitiy of Malayalis formed.However proper Malayalam(which is spoken till today)evolve in 15th century.--[[User:Tan Meifen|Tan Meifen]] ([[User talk:Tan Meifen|talk]]) 11:18, 2 May 2012 (UTC) |

[edit]The development of Malayalam language and a unique identity of Malayali emerged during this period.
