image guided surgery and surgical navigation?
[edit]Maybe these two shouldn't be redirected here. It's my understanding that these are not synonyms. If there aren't any objections, I'll remove the redirect and create a stub. Strawmd (talk) 14:47, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
This article talks mostly about robotic surgery. Image guided surgery is used frequently without the help of robotics and is used for surgical navigation with CT/MR. The language used 'Computer assisted surgery' is a very generalized term and should perhaps just be defined as using computers to assist in surgery whether it be image guided or robot guided. Therefore I believe 'Image guided surgery' should be it's own topic. Furthermore 'Robotic surgery' already has it's own page making some of this article is redundant.--Brianeeg (talk) 15:07, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
